This is only a problem if this is the only game he plays. If he plays a lot then it wasn't wasted.

Right. Freshman d lineman as a rule can't compete against linemen who have been a college program for 2 or 3 years. D linemen need to redshirt...period!

Unless they are an exception to the rule like Ole Miss DL Robert Nkemdiche.

Yes. The number one player in the country. A 5 star recruit. He is playing for a middle of the pack SEC team. Nkindiche would have redshirted at Alabama.

Minor had 4 tackles in limited playing time. Almost led the Defensive Lineman and he didn't play many downs. I've watched first half replay. He was hustling and in on tackles on first 2 plays. On one of those plays he actually got immediate pressure on QB for one of the few times of the nite but Manziel faked him-like he does everyone-but he stayed with the play-circled back around and laid a good hit and tackled the runner. Then he got hurt. Not sure where other 2 tackles were but let's see what he can do. Most of the DLineman never breathed heavily on Manziel. Its actually much more common for true freshman to see action on the DLine as opposed to OLine probably because its a more instinctive position. I bet he starts by the end of the season

Be careful about bringing facts into a good witch hunt, Stallion.

Minor looked good in his limited role. Yes, he got overpowered a few times, but he also got around the end a few times against the Aggie RT and flushed Manziel out to the other side. Of course, Manziel is very dangerous when he runs in either direction, but Minor did his job on several plays. He also got hurt and came back in pretty quickly.

The coaches have said that several freshmen would play after a few games, as they got a better feel for what the offense/defense is doing. Apparently he's one of them, and let's hope he continues to get better every week.

No witch hunt jerk. Just hope he sees the field a lot so he won't be used like Jeremy Johnson was when his redshirt was burned.
