Pasqualoni and JJ can't be considered the same.
Pasqualoni was given a program that had just gone to a BCS bowl and was in a postition to make the jump to the next level, possibly the ACC or whoever. Maybe they never had a shot, but that was their hope. Now, under his leadership, they have been left behind by almost all their Big East counterparts, and they are losing to programs that they should NEVER lose to - Towson and Buffalo?
JJ has taken a program to a better place and has hit a plateau. We have reached a better conference, won bowl games, but now we see us trying to play catch up to new conference mates. But losing to Tech, A&M, and TCU - three teams that could end up in the top 25 at the end of the season - is not the same as losing to Towson, Maryland, and Buffalo.
Pas, Kiffin, and possibly Mack have all watched their programs recede. Regardless of the reasons (sanctions, etc.) the programs are clearly not doing as well as they were three years or four years ago. As such, they have given their bosses reasons to fire them.
