They overwhelmed ND Stadium, the first time they played there and they show up in huge numbers at both Big Ten games and bowls. Candidly, I would expand Ford Stadium to accommodate a semi-annual game with them, but would accept Jerry's World until Ford Renovation is complete.

This is likely cost prohibitive...I'd rather spend that money on an IPF and your new natatorium. Alternatively, I would schedule the game at the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair rather than Jerryworld. The Cotton Bowl's accessibility and lower prices would make it an easier draw for the casual fan in the DFW area, and it still has plenty of seats (90k+)

Nebraska is a great idea, they travel well and used to recruit TX very well- I bet they'd be receptive to the idea. Arkansas doesnt have a reason to do so- they play A&M every year at Jerryworld starting next year. Another team to consider would be Tennessee- they travel very well, and recruit a couple guys from TX each year. Also- Rick's dad is their AD so you know we could at least get the phone call through...

The crowd that surprised me the most was 31,278 for Army Louisiana Tech a few weeks ago in the Cotton Bowl

I connected on my way to Dallas through Atlanta - and my entire flight was ND fans almost. The airports in ATL and DFW were filled with ND fans and a sprinkling of ASU. Those Irish sure can travel.

Bottom line- we need to strive to be at a place as a program where we can take on a big time team at Jerryworld or the Cotton Bowl every once in awhile. Beating crappy teams OOC won't change people's perceptions of us. We just need to knock off one big time team at some point to get some respect.

In a couple of years this could be a possibility. We would draw the crowds because Jerryworld is a far more attractive venue than Ford Stadium or Amon Carter...

TCU vs LSU got packed because LSU travels well...usually the larger team will bring 60k people more or less...TCU the remaining 20k

For the Bama v Michigan game it was about half and half with almost 91,000 in attendance. Both teams traveled nicely and I bet Jerry made a fortune.

Saw the game on TV. They may have announced 31,278 tickets sold, but it didn't look like 31,000 in the stands. Maybe due to the 2 rain delays.
