I dont think this offense is suited for Shead. He takes too long to get going he needs to be in the I formation with a lead blocker so he can get moving. KC is the best suited RB for this offense on the roster.

I agree with this . I think he's a 25 carry type guy. But our Oline needs some blame. He had a few good runs and almost had 100 yards. Of course Zach had over 100 for most games .

Because I have never seen Shead run in his previous careers, it is difficult to judge his ability based on the limited plays he has had with SMU. Most of his carries were severely limited with poor blocking. I question whether or not he is really healthy which might explain his apparent slow first step.

I think that Shead is the most talented RB we have on the roster.

That said, even with line it took him a while to learn how to read the blocking correctly and hit the hole hard. Line always had a little hesitation to read the defense and then took off.

KC has success because he is used to the offense, he knows what to read.

I do think that JJ gets caught up in players he believes have NFL ability. He will stick with them until they "get it", instead of waiting until they show they "get it" in practice before giving them game time.

That could be due to only going full speed/tackling in games and not in practice. Hard to tell if a guy "gets it" until he is in the "fog of war" so to speak and since Shead missed so much of the "preseason" they are still trying to see if he understands what is going on.

Hmmm, get over it - KC will never play (unless injuries occur) Shead and line had same yards per carry average

I like the new fog of war meme. Stick it up there with Pencil it in and it's not rocket science.

Shead is a DeMyron Martin starter kit.
KC should be playing more.

I would be happy if Prescott doesn't play another down at RB.

Can we move him to LB?

This is true. I remember saying that Zach Line wasn't the answer long term at RB.
In hindsight, I was a little off with that comment!

We all need to remember that Zach wasn't on anyone's radar after his freshman year as a potential starting RB. It's too early to tell whether or not Prescott will develop in a similar manner.

I agree with the point that the O-Line has been more of a problem this season than any of the RBs.

Shead still looks slightly tentative to me, unless there is an obvious hole. Remember this was a top 15 defense until GG and the boys hit town.

Just watched the replay of the orthopeadic's on field exam. I do believe Shead is through for the year. Sorry about it. I think the guy could really create havoc if we could get him the ball at the second level. He destroys D backs.
