Re: Next Texas Coach?I read something about there being no buyout in Saban's new contract-is that true?
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Next Texas Coach?I saw something somewhere that suggested UT will swing and miss at Saban (check), Meyer, Fisher and Mora before ultimately deciding between Charlie Strong and Dabo Swinney.
Re: Next Texas Coach?longshot I grant you, but Jerry Gray...
stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse

Re: Next Texas Coach?Randy Allen, HP Coach! He does more with less talent than most schools! (Sarc)
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Next Texas Coach?actually june does more with less talent - but the fact that he has less talent his own fault (and our biggest issue).
Re: Next Texas Coach?Jason Garrett should be available.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Next Texas Coach?Apparently there is a short list of 5 names.
Dabo Sweeney from Clemson Jim Mora from UCLA James Franklin from Vandy Gus Malzahn from Auburn Jimbo Fisher from FSU It's believed Sweeney is at the top. I honestly can't believe that Malzahn would leave Auburn for UT; don't know anything about Fisher's history with FSU outside of him being an assistant. I still don't believe a nice coach from Vanderbilt would be their first choice.
Re: Next Texas Coach?Sweeney would be a poor choice for UT. He consistently has lost to top ranked teams. Yet, they always have talent there.
Strong or Mora would be a better fit at Texas.
Re: Next Texas Coach?Guy from Northwestern would be a good fit.
Re: Next Texas Coach?Does Texas want to implement the run n shoot??
Re: Next Texas Coach?franklin would be great for them - he would out Sumlin Sumlin
Re: Next Texas Coach?
Pat Fitzgerald played LB there. When they hired him, he might have been the youngest HC in the country. I don't see him leaving Northwestern. Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: Next Texas Coach?Right...because nobody would leave somewhere they like to double their salary.
Re: Next Texas Coach?I would love to double my salary. I'm sure Pat Fitzgerald would as well. I just think the guy bleeds purple. It would be a tough, emotional decision for him to leave Northwestern. It is a moot point since his name hasn't been mentioned by anyone other than us.
