Sorry. It's going to take more than a Twitter post to convince me that June is making REAL effort with regards to recruiting.

Thought so too. Larry Brown and Gary Patterson (TCWho) tweet themselves though...step it up June!

How many rounds of golf is he going to play while on this blitz?

College football head coaches can't hit the recruiting road until sometime in July I believe.

I am with Jason on this. Many people, including me, communicated with the AD and others that they wanted a more aggressive recruiting approach. I will be interested to see the results, and give them the opportunity to show results. When people make a significant positive change in their approach, I prefer to give them a chance to show the results of that.

The results will show up in 2016-2017 when thankfully June Jones is going to be long gone. This season you will see the results of what he didn't do

Therein lies the problem... Stallion wrote:when thankfully June Jones is going to be long gone.
Anything's possible, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that. Of course that being said, I think part of the problem is that our football staff didn't fully understand the importance of promoting one's recruiting efforts. In recruiting, maybe as much as anything, perception is reality.

We wanted more transparency about when and where they recruit. Now we're getting it. Let's hope it works.

Are you implying that they may have always been doing this but not publicizing it? If so then we should expect the same results right?

I think some of our coaches have recruited harder than they've been given credit for.
So to answer your question, not necessarily.
I also think that in the past we've felt that some recruits were out of our league, and therefore we didn't work them, which is clearly defeatist thinking. I don't know anymore of what's going on behind the scenes that anyone else, but maybe between pressure from the AD, seeing how Coach Brown and his staff operates, landing Gresham, and hiring some younger, more motivated assistants will cumulatively make a difference. I know there was an athlete on campus a few days ago who's offer list looked like the AP Top 25 poll.
And I'm pretty sure that the Athletic Dept. has been directed to be more transparent with their activities and recruiting efforts.
