The smaller pony is due to the new, safer helmet designs. I forget where I heard that, but there's literally not enough room for the old decal

Pony was too small in 2013.

I wasn't for sure if the pony was smaller, or if it was an illusion due to the stripes being more narrow. So, I decided to do a quick test with Photoshop. It appears, IMO that the helmet decal was significantly smaller in 2013. On the blended image I resized the images to scale correctly (using the face mask attachment as a guide).



Please SMU, stop tweaking things that do not need to be tweaked for no reason... Classic is classic because it never changes!

It also appears the red of the mustang is not as bright/sharp, but that just may be the picture.

You are right. Don't mess with success.

1. Decide on the damn helmet stripes and stick with them.

2. Get rid of the shoulder stripes and never have them back.

3. Add matching pant stripes and don't mess with it.

4. Add giant SMU lettering on chest.

5. Change to blue with an occasional throwback.

Do that and our uniforms are done for perpetuity with all our fans are happy and the uniform geeks would love us. It isn't that hard, is it.

Berg, I think Oz 's suggestion is perfectly good for special throwback games. Doak Walker's Red with khaki pants is a great look - as 1523 has demonstrated with some of his other mock ups.
