As an SMU fan I guess it is kind of neat that we are at least one school's nemesis. The vitriolic garbage spewed by a lot of UNT people towards SMU is crazy. Hey at least someone cares enough to hate us!

Didn't they just finish building a new football stadium a few years ago. I thought I remember seeing construction last time I went through Denton.

And this is a shot of the Wing. If you make the game, and get there early it's a good workout getting to the tip on the stairs. It gives you a great view of Denton and the surrounding area. Your ears may pop a bit on the way up though.

Last time I played golf I played on a mean green. Looked to be about the size as the green above when trying to find the hole to put the golf ball.

This will come mostly in the form of us claiming our superiority as a private university and lots I jokes about NT being a landing spot for those who could not make it at 7-eleven and mcdonalds.

Hello Ponyfans. I wanted to jump in and say hello as we inch closer to our game in Denton this year.

I am not going to lie, our fans have a strong passion about playing SMU and this goes back quite a long time. Personally, I remember watching the SMU game in Denton in 1990. That was a standing only crowd at Fouts and it was a great game. Growing up in Houston, I was an SMU fan during the Ron Meyer regime. I am excited about the fact we have an ongoing series and I think it will be beneficial for both sides. We will bring a LOT of fans to your stadium. A good indicator of this is the crowd we brought to the Heart of Dallas bowl (39K) with a no-draw opponent UNLV. We have a lot of fans that won't drive to Denton but will attend a game in Dallas.

One thing I wanted to mention, there is a big push for Denton County Transit Authority (DCTA) on UNT gamedays this football season with complimentary transportation services via the A-train and DCTA shuttles under the partnership of DCTA, UNT, and the Denton Convention & Visitors Bureau. I did this last year and you can take the green line on Dart to the Trinity Mills station where you can catch the A-Train right into the Denton Downtown Square and a shuttle to the stadium. It works great, and the Denton square scene is really fun with a lot of bars and restaurants you can visit. It's a fun way to get to the game without having to worry about driving.

Great post. Thank you for the information regarding Downtown Denton. What a great downtown area with character. Have some good memories of partying in Denton. Had no idea there was shuttle to the stadium. Very nice.

The stadium hold 30,800 and the average attendance is over 18.000 per game for the last two years. If they bring half that and Ford has it normal SMU home crowd of 5k they will own Ford.

That's a big if, it'll be a miracle if they can even approach our normal 5K. The only teams we play with the ability to takeover Ford are in the P5.
