Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." Threadagree about Cassel...might as well start him, and teach him to run. Might want to view a TE in the picture for short yardage...
but this is the reason I'm sitting on the sofa, and smarter folks are calling plays...I just get to complain and fuss at days like today. Maybe this is what it felt like to root for K-State before Snyder. Last edited by peruna81 on Sat Sep 06, 2014 9:25 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I don't know you personally, but I'm sure the guys calling plays are not smarter than you.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." Threadsign you up "I think Couchem is right."

Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." ThreadBlue jerseys, red helmets, install the Single Wing and pray fervently.
No more horizontal passing.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." Thread
Play calling is a secondary consideration when there is no blocking and time to execute.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." Thread
Although I like the idea of Pope at RB, I am surprised to say that I agree with everything Stallion said.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." ThreadI would hire Hal Mumme.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." ThreadIt's clear this OL can't pass block very well, so would have to find out if they can run block. I wonder whether Mason could take this team the rest of this season and adapt the offense to what little talent we do have?
The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." ThreadSelf imposed DP may be better than having June in the TCU and A&M public executions
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." Thread1. Scrap the spread offence and run the ball 30-35 times a game. The offensive line can't pass protect but perhaps they have some skills for the ground game (Can it get any worse?)
2. Never employ the three-man rush in obvious passing situations. 3. Stop throwing the 30-yard sideline pass for a net gain of one yard. 4. When it's second down and two, run the ball on two consecutive plays. 5. Matt Davis can't learn the offence in six weeks but install six or seven plays that play to his strengths as a change of pace. 6. Tell you kickoff returners to take a knee when the kickoff travels five yards into the end zone. 7. Start using five and six-man pass blitzes. If we are going to lose, let's lose aggressively.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." Thread
Like moving Yenga to OLB and sitting Deion and firing special teams. If we are going ball control on offense, Matt Davis is probably the better QB. Pope is bad in coverage and will hurt us in conference against the wide open teams. 52 is good in coverage, but he got pushed around today against the run. Bordano is big enough but takes the wrong gaps on run support at times and hurts us. I would probably pair 52 with Tui or Horton inside. Tui had a nice play today, but didn't see him much outside of that one play. Move Gaines and that lacrosse guy to TE. Get the eastern european, holloway, and Seanna reps at OT and see what happens. If we are going to become a running team, we might need to get Hyder out there as well. Get as much pure athleticism and speed at WR as possible - DJ, Lancaster, Stewart, Halverson, Malone, Shelby, and Buffini. Screw consistancy let's get players on the field who can make things happen. If we need a deep threat, Shelby should replace DT yesterday.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." ThreadPope needs to go back to defense if you are not even going to give him the ball. Pope has always played his [deleted] off on D. There isn't anyone doing that now.
Re: The "IF I WERE HEAD COACH ..." ThreadIf i were the head coach after todays performance Id jump off the nearest bridge.
