The bball program is just more in touch with the alumni/fans/students generally. I think Hart is there, too. And I have faith the fball program will get there as well. AND there will be growing pains. ED is not a bozo, and he's always been a bit cantankerous and I understand him defending JJ but I'm really surprised by all this. I guess he's trying to make sure fball doesn't go backwards. But, again, we (the admin) SHOULD have gotten to him and been PROACTIVE. He should ALWAYS be included, and consulted, with major fball decisions IMHO.

I agree that Eric has been more helpful than he used to be, but he was so unhelpful before it is not even worth noting. Nice that he is loyal to June - but he doesn't have to throw SMU under the bus. If he had any connection to SMU at all he would know June did not work hard and never had much focus on recruiting. And if there is any subject Eric ought to know about - it is the importance of recruiting.

Other nationally known players treat their alma mater differently then Eric does his. Going on the record with a nationally sports network (the most important one) and claiming that our administration is unhelpful when that information is completely out of date, is not helpful, causes me to feel he is worthy of the bozo moniker. Saying we are nothing, and should kill the program - those are not helpful statements and also are not true.

I have met him several times, and it confirmed to me Eric is pretty much about Eric. So I choose not to retract it - but I am fairly sure he would not care one bit what I think.

Actually, if ESanders-ZLine-SMoore-CBeasley said something like this, I would absolutely agree with them too. Had we gotten our &*% together even a decade past TCU, we would not be on the outside looking in now.

I agree. And we don't know what all June was telling him about the current situation at SMU. He could have been filling ED's head full of the same stuff that the staff was filling Mexmustang's and JasonB's head with.

Ok, but if upper leadership is recalcitrant and/or nonsupportive, there's not a lot a head coach *can* do. I do understand Rebel's point, though. That possibility did occur to me that JJ's been giving only his side of the story.

But we just don't what know picture was painted of SMU's current situation by June to ED.
