So What does a player major that say has a 2.4 GPA now that they will not be able to major in Sportd Management with that GPA?

Sports Management isn't in the School of Business-its in the School of Education started partly to address these types of issues

I was told that it will become part of Cox ... when, will it happen?? As I stated, a lot of the courses on the Sport Management track ... not the Kinessiology Track (sp) already go through Cox. But, the program currently runs through Deadman. The degree is called Applied Physiology and Sport Management, and you can choose which tract. One is the business side of Sports (you takes Sports Law, Ethics, Bus Stats etc), the other is more geared toward athletic training.

Cox would never let that happen, it would hurt their rankings too much

One option SMU does have (unusual and unlikely) ... IF they split the program. Applied Physiology stays at Deadman and Sport Management goes into Cox. SMU can apply for a wavier that will allow a lower GPA for this program separate from the overall requirement for COX. SMU would have to apply and document this wavier with their accrediting body ... in this case SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). This can be done, but this would lower the overall matrix for Cox and affect their ranking and standing. Again, not a likely scenario. The academic folks would pitch a fit ... and rightfully so IMO.

Applied Physiology is NOT in Dedman
We spent multi-millions of dollars to create a brand new College of Education with new building, infrastructure, majors, minors, curriculum and professors. The College of Education is one of the- what is it- 7 Colleges of the University.

You are right (you know that), my bad ... I hate when I have a brain fart, Simmons School of Education and Human Development. Don't know why I kept thinking Deadman.
