Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits nowWouldn't be at all surprised if Brad Sutton wasn't the force behind this communication strategy . 1) He is very good at what he does. 2) Over the last several years the football program has withdrawn from alumni interaction or communication. This has lead to more angst against the staff. These tweets and Instagram messages are all brief, positive and well received. No matter what happens, these will help buy the staff a longer honeymoon.
Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits nowI think the end of the mini me receiver is the number one change we will see with any new staff. Followed immediately with a power set - regardless of offensive scheme.
Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits now
Class according to Rivals currently at 13. If we can keep Brown, Kearns, McCrary, Proche (healthy), Kaufman and the Scott Bros that's a decent start. 4 of the other 6 commits are also these little receiver types that Phillips & Jones seemed to love and the new staff must re-evaluate.
Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits now
Some of the current players are going to want to move on. That would free up a few spots. One thing about our recruiting class, some of them are at schools that SMU needs to be hitting hard every year. We aren't going to pull any scholarship offers lightly. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits nowTop down,
All coaches are going to at least two HS football games this weekend. Due to rules they can't say exactly but they have been give assignments. The mustangs are out of the gate, running down local talent. WOW, management does make a difference. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"

Is it Brad Sutton or Brad Cheeves that is Turners little puppet? Peruna is my mascot!
Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits nowCheeves=Turner right hand man
Re: Assistant coaches scouting recruits nowIf experience is any guide, I agree with Stallion that we will see a slew of de-commits. Once the new staff is in place, we will likely also see a slew of current players moving on. Its about tearing it down at this point. . . which is a necessary first step before building it back up.
