I won't deny that Nutt is a good football coach, my concern is off the field. He has a used car salesman's vibe about him, plus, I don't think he could do the long haul job Mustang football needs.

That is what I have said from the beginning. He would rev up the base, excite the community, recruit the area very well and in 2 or 3 years we would be tired of him but hopefully the program would be moving forward.

Too far for the traveling SMU fan base. 3,000 Mustang fans at Cowboyz Stadyum wouldn't look so good.

I'm liking the buzz - it seems indeed that all the rock stars are at least open to having the conversation. Maybe we have indeed moved out of the "stay away" status. So let's get one, start killing it in AAC (have a lot of recruiting catch up to do with UCF and USF and coaching catch up with UCF and Houston . . . the rest I'm not really worried about). I think we can get an invite to P5, but we have to absolutely kill it in AAC play and fill the seats for 2-3 straight seasons before that conversation gets even to the serious stage.

We are, yet again, in a critical stage. I haven't given up hope yet. I'm actually pretty excited (of course this year will suck and most likely next year also - the good news is that our football conference sucks so it won't take much to get very competitive in it quickly).

What exactly is so exciting about playing in jerryworld?
More expensive tickets, parking, food/drinks, no blvd/tailgate, Arlington.
Thank you very little.

The fact that a well known coach with a record that includees winning at the very highest level is a good sign, I think, for our chances of getting a top notch coach.
kinda sounds like the Larry brown scenario.

Brown won national championships Nutt has not won an SEC Championship. Once he ran out of Orgeron's players at Ole Miss he tried to skip town and go to Kansas (after Mangino was fired) like JJ tried to go to ASU. And he could not develop QB as seen by his mis handling of Jevan Snead. Playing was really bad. After Orgeron's players left in his last 2 years he went 4-8 and 2-10 including losing to Jacksonvile State and getting whipped 27-7 by La Tech.

But Nutt's players are the ones that have Ole Miss where they are today. He did win a couple of SEC West championships and that is an accomplishment. Lost out to national champs Florida I believe.

Wrong on that as well Hugh Freeze had a couple of monster recruiting classes including getting the number 1 player in the national that started last year. The players that are contributing the most are Freezes young players. Nutt's coaching was so bad his last 2 years that it not only got him fired but they replaced the AD as well. And no he would not win here since he does not have someone else's talent stockpiled.

Ed would do okay here but Morris, Herman, Beaty, or Spav would be the best targets imo.

Having seen TCU at Jerry World 3 times along with a couple other college games, I agree completely. I don't want to ever watch another game in that stadium.

Yep. Reminds me of when texas stadium was dry and you could bring a cooler in (food and beverage/beer).

Everyone wanted beer sales in stadium.

Until they understood the price difference
