Mack Brown can't fix this program quickly. Those that think he was such a great recruiter are ignoring the fact he was recruiting kids to play at Texas...not SMU

What over the top opinion did I have? I made a pretty tongue in cheek comment about preferring mason to brown, but I don't think either would be a good hire. I think brown would improve things, yes, but I don't think he's the guy.

I see this as similar to everyone being satisfied with the toilet bowl every year because of 25 years of terrible football before.

And I was referencing underachieving relative to the rankings of his recruiting classes. I didn't look them up, so I may be incorrect but that was my impression, and what I believed to be the shared impression of ut football

Yet you would prefer Mason, who's career is a string of toilet bowl programs? Mack is not my first choice but come on, Mason is not a better option

This can't be that hard of a sell...great academics, great campus, great facilities, and 4 years to start with tons of chances to get noticed on tv.

and NO CHANCE to compete for a national championship...makes it hard to recruit at the highest level

It was a sarcastic response. At this point I have not seen enough of masons turn around ability to campaign for his promotion. That being said, I'm not counting on it. I just REALLY don't want Brown

That's not every good recruit's top priority. A much better team can be built going after guys who don't want to wait until they are rs juniors and seniors to get their first snaps at top programs. Obviously I am not of the opinion that an entire roster can be made up like this, but good recruits CAN be convinced to come here
