Now there is a fantastic facility to do so. (Practiced in there w/ Alumni band and it sounds AWESOME)

We appreciate you taking the feedback, SID.
Please Mic the Band from now on and never play rap music in Ford ever again. Maybe a pump up techno song like Darude - Sandstorm or Avicii - Levels/wake me up for kickoffs but that is it. More band please.
What's wrong with rap? Just because you like some other style of music doesn't mean that recruits don't like it. That goes for rock or rap.
Rap is thug, and makes us look like Baylor/Texas Tech or SMU back in the bennett area. Moody Coliseum has a way better music selection, learn from them.

Last week, we encountered a few different things that kept them from playing as much as we'd like. 1. As it happened, right before many of the breaks we had the MB scheduled to play, A&M would score and then their band would play in the break. This also had an impact on some other breaks when we were scheduled to play, but with A&M playing, it's tough for an 80-person band to go head-to-head with a 300-person band. 2. We have to have a balance of music, though. Our summer survey showed that people did like both. It was split. For all the band fans out there (and I'm one of them), I get emails like this: "Does the band only learn one new song a year? We've been hearing this same Earth, Dirt & Fire stuff since I was born." And yes, the emailer did say "Earth, Dirt & Fire." All that said, I have specifically asked for more Mustang Band music this week.

^any idea if there are plans to grow the band to at least halfway of what A&M and Texas have? UT band is monstrous, I know but at least let's get 150-180 kids in there. Seen HS bands that are bigger than ours which is embarrassing

The Diamond M Club is the booster club for the band. They contribute to scholarship funds in order to attract more players. Most band folks are essentially volunteers, making a very large time commitment to participate. The band directors and boosters can't really improve the football product, but they can offer scholarships as a way to increase membership.

Hey SID........How about Lady Casa and her PLURs as guest cheerleaders, with EDM backup music playing ? Talk about hip....they could throw out Kandi Bracelets to the fans in the stands.
Smustatesman aka NUKE......I procreate and I vote.

Maybe we can all chip in and get them a Sam's membership.

Why should I go away? Just because you do not like what I have to say does not mean I have to leave. I am as part of this program as you are. If you want me to leave, I can give you my bank account # and you can refund me for my SMU education and then I will be free to pick another football program to back up. Until then, STHU and mind your own business. You are free to ignore me, there is a function on this forum for that. Same goes to the others who think like you.

Thanks SID I'm sure everyone here appreciates you responding. I think game presentation has gotten tremendously better every year since I've been in school (and just about every other aspect of SMU athletics besides winning games as well). Also its nice to know the details of the cell phone stuff, now I can give an informed response when everyone in the student section is [deleted] about it. Who knows we have a lot of wealthy students maybe someone will get so fed up they pony up for it.
