Re: Spring Game
If you werent aware, SMU students don't seek things out, they need to be feed info. ![]() Spring fball hasn't been on anyone's radar in 20 years around here other than us.
Re: Spring GameI would not be surprised if 4,000 people show up, everyone I have talked to is going to the game.
Re: Spring GameFamily of five, check. Add that to the 419...
Re: Spring GameTwo more from Austin, and all nearby hotels are sold out for that weekend.
Re: Spring Gamenoticed 2 things from the pics of today's practice which have been previously discussed. Shelby Walker is starting to develop some guns for a guy that was supposed to be 152 last year. Good start. And Mason Gentry is probably at about the 290+ range because I can see a belly on his tall frame.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Spring GameThere plus 7. My wife and I are hosting a group of folks that I've convinced to come see the spring game. These are people who haven't been to an SMU game that wasn't TCU in five plus years. I'm hoping that they have a great time and will get some season tickets.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Spring Game9 coming with me, excited to see the tempo.
Re: Spring GameThere with 2 more, plus possibly 2 others
Re: Spring Game
Funny thing about the Alabama spring game is that, of the 90,000 that show up, probably less than 20,000 are season ticket holders. Most of the people that show up are on their once a lifetime pilgrimage to pray to the Bear and see the only Alabama football game they'll ever see in person.
Re: Spring GameYes, you are correct! And on that note, another amazing thing is my son who graduates in 4 weeks (never missed a home game), but has never gone to the Spring game either. The fraternities have their big spring parties that weekend so their drunk butts never even get close to the event. It's really for Wal-Mart/sidewalk fans, for sure.
Re: Spring Game
Speaking of which, got any suggestions on areas of town to live in other than out Rice Mine by that little shopping center with the Publix and Jalapenos? Trying to figure out where to live for my one year in Tuscaloosa that isn't overrun with undergrads. The place I'm looking at (Reserve at North River) has told me that they don't even lease to undergrads but I'm a little concerned about the fact that all my classes are going to be in Bidgood and Alston which requires going all the way to the west side of campus every day (and I already know that I have an 8 AM class on mondays and wednesdays). Is your son in a fraternity Alabama? I always made a point of going back to Mississippi to hit some of the spring parties at Ole Miss. SMU fraternities just don't quite do the spring parties like the SEC schools... not much better than tearing through a few pounds of crawfish, drinking [deleted] beer, and listening to some random zydeco band during the day before dialing back for a couple hours before the 'headliner' band starts up when the sun goes down.
Spring GameLet me check with my son, and I'll get back to you, yes, he's a Phi Delt...Riverfront Village is one to try that I know of...but it rent to undergrads.
Re: Spring GameThere plus 3. Getting dangerously close to 450.
Very smart move to have the bball team there. That could get about 2,000 alone.
Re: Spring Game
I resemble that remark.
