If SMU goes undefeated it would probably be HCCM's last year at SMU unless we got invited to a P5 conference or gave him a major pay increase.

If he wins a national title this year I can guarantee one hundred percent that SMU will give him an extension and pay him 5x what he is making now.

I rather suspect that if SMU were to win the national title, there would be an invite to a P5 conference in the mail somewhere.

I remember back in 2010 or something Boise State being a #3 preseason team and being a favorite to make the BCS National Championship Game when only 2 got in...if a G5 team runs the table and beats some P5 OOC teams I think there would be a lot of media outcry for them to get into the playoff. And for the doubters who would invariably say they hadn't played a tough enough schedule, it's a great retort to say we'd love to play an SEC or Big 12 schedule, but they won't let us...so give us a shot in the Playoff.

Baylor and TCU are #4 and #2 in the preseason top 25. That's a tougher OOC than anyone else in the country

Going undefeated is incredibly difficult at any level. Especially at the college level. If SMU goes undefeated in any season Morris is HC, then I agree with him, we dance.

Personally, I hope he doesn't go undefeated ever. Undefeated will bring down the NCAA and DP in a heartbeat. Losing one game and avoiding the playoffs at least gets us probation instead of the DP.
