Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanBiggurs weighed in around 265 (was listed at 245 on the roster). Would be nice if he could be a rotation guy this year to provide some depth and give Wood/Minor/Gentry/Green a breather.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 Freshman
I think Biggurs plays mostly DE. Jordan Williams could see the field at the star position. #HammerDown
Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanA lot of freshmen will play this year and I believe they will have a positive impact on the team. In fact 2 of the 3 starting receivers might be freshmen.

Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 Freshman
With Wood moving inside and the Scotts running at LB to start camp... If the starters at end right now are McCleneghan on the strong side and Lawler on the weak, you have Nabushosi and Seals serving as pass rush specialists at both ends. That leaves Epley and Pruitt as the only other ends on the roster I think. With a solid rotation inside, it would make sense for Biggurs to compete at DE and potentially push McCleneghan on the strong side for the starting spot. FYI at DT I think it would be Gentry and Wood starting, Hollie and Minor rotating in, and then who knows where Green fits into that mix if in the rotation or pushing a starter. I kind of doubt the latter otherwise I don't know that Wood would have been kept inside.
Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanSurprising (and disappointing) if Minor, with his talent, can't step up enough to claim 1 of the first 4 DLine spots.

I like that. The FAB 15 will be the difference makers. ![]() "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanMicheal Scott is 250 pounds as a true freshmen. He should be working in with the defensive ends. Why is he even starting off at LB? Delontae is another story. He's 235.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanI could be wrong but I think Michael Scott is starting out at DE.

Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanBoth Scotts were supposedly running at Star in the summer drills from what I have heard. That may have changed in Fall Camp, I don't think anyone knows what is happening right now
![]() Ultimately, I think they want to find guys in that Star position that have the size to play the run, but the speed strength and athleticism to both blitz and cover. So I think they will take the best athletes on defense, try them out there, and them move them out if they can't play the role. I kind of wonder if Williams or the Scotts fit the role well enough, you might see Shaq moved back to safety and the Mitchells moved back to Will. Shaq has the athleticism to play there, but I don't know how well he is going to hold up against Navy?
Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 Freshmanthe Scotts aren't going to be playing the Star-really?

Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanMorris and co told the Scott's they could play OLB when the recruited them. If they are running with them right now, I'm sure it's just to honor their word and see how they do. If they shine, great, if not, they move to DE like the plan was for them all along.

Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanSome of the players in the spring even referred to the Star position as the SAM role.
Re: Morris Expects to Play 10-15 FreshmanStar is a hybrid safety/linebacker role. Same as the TCU Rover not exactly the same as a SAM role we just call it the Star instead of a Rover. Coach Morris said in his first interview that we were moving to the 4-2-5 and the Star is a key position. I do know that Williams was specifically recruited to play the Star. Could the Scott brothers have been working out with the linebacker in general over the summer? But like I said who knows where anyone is playing now. Going to be fun to see the starting lineup on game day.
