our fan base is certainly over confident about this game. As Larry Brown tells his guys "respect your opponent". With so many guys returning from a team that was dominated in Denton last year, I hope our guys come out and play better than they did against Baylor. Watching the SMU defense against Baylor, I'm anticipating a game like we had against UNT in the early Bennett years where both teams moved the ball up and down the field all night and seemed to score at will. I think we will find a way to win but expect this to be a nail biter.

Agree. That's why I said we win, but by 10 points. Not the blowout others are predicting.
The only way UNT doesn't rack up a bunch of points is if their QB struggles. If they can move the ball, we saw Friday that we can't really tackle.

Guido isnt off by much ever, so expect a close game with us pulling it out in the end. I will be thrilled by a 1 pt win, so lets just not worry about style points. I don't think they will stop us much on D - but can our D stop them is the question. We really don't know.

This isn't about you, who cares?..but he is a State employee operating on taxpayers time legally drunk, coaching young impressionable kids during college football games. What he does after on his own time, is his business. What he is doing is a crime and unethical and the UNT boosters and their athletes deserve more FWIW.

Could he have quit over the summer maybe?

I agree, mostly because of our defense. (and we need a second receiver to step up) - I think we'll run well against them. And I bet you'll see a faster tempo against them than what we saw against Baylor also.

You guys say the defense being terrible is going to make this game close...

Seeiously, Do you think any of the north texas players could even get reps in baylors offense? Does unt have a fleet of track star receivers, the offensive line of a playoff contender, or elite backs that can run you over or break your ankles depending on how they feel that play?

obviously the defense will play incredibly better against a slower, smaller, less agile, and less schematicly advantaged team. I'm not saying that defense was good at all but to say they're going to give up a lot of points to ntsu because they gave up a lot of points to an A+ offense is kind of..well short sighted and stupid. It should not be assumed that because the defense cannot stop elite receivers that they will also not be able to stop receivers similar to their talent level and as such this will be a shootout.

To hell with that.

Somebody get a case of Grey Goose and Ocean Spray and have a bartender ready to go on the visitors side of Ford on Saturday afternoon.
