I think this year his team had not played team yet with speed and talent of Alabama, so when his QB made same throws against Lamar, Nevada, etc. their DBs couldn't get there but Bama's could. Also, their OL couldn't push Bama around like the lesser teams they played. If you don't have to play hard for 4 quarters against comparable talent sometimes first time you have to do it you have an eye opener.

More aggie mythmaking. Offensive line studs? never remember Sherman's recruits panning out at all. All this NFL talk is rubbish. The last time the ags put relevant numbers of recruits in the NFL was under Sheril back in the mid to late eighties and that was a very short window of time indeed.

Longing for the Slocum days? what did AandM really ever accomplish under Slocum given the talent he had to work with? one big 12 championship over a 12 year period and then getting slaughtered par for the course in their bowl game?

As good as Sumlin is recruiting he is not out recruiting Nick Saban but who is?. Also they had 3 pick 6's in the game and lost by less than the 21 points given up by the 3 pick 6's. They will be fine once their QB play is settled.

He's not even really outrecruiting Charlie Strong as the average per recruits are almost exactly the same over last 2 years. In fact, in both years Charlie's Strong's average is actually higher-UT does have a way to go to fill up their class this year but if they finish well like last year they've got a good shot of finishing with a better class

Sumlin has been recruiting very well at A&M, but so have LSU, Bama, Ole Miss, and Auburn. We should hope Sumlin does well but not too well for the foreseeable future so he doesn't get poached away and then we lose Chad to A&M

Probably a good chance we lose Chad to someone in the next 3-4 years. . .I'm prepared for it.

Aggies looked horrid against Hoddy Toddy. QB play is not good at all.

actually I do think its one valid perspective but only when the signing classes are full-not when comparing a Class of 23 with a Class of 4 or 11. I think the best approach is to take the Nate Silver approach. Take the class ranking from average and total points of Rivals, Scout and 247.com-maybe that Recruiting by Offers site too and just blend the scores and realize that extra large and extra small classes may need to be analyzed a little differently

The services are just another tool. A tool is as good or bad as how you use it and what it is used for.

Haha, good to know. The funny thing is that the only reason I even know about HoTTy toddy is because I went to an SMU vs Ole Miss game at the Cotton Bowl in I think 1998. I remember all those confederate flag waiving Ole Miss fans yelling that hotty toddy chant. That game is my one and only ever encounter with Ole Miss.

The Aggies have yet to adjust to the fact that they are the 4th best team in the west. They would probably mop up in the SEC East, but the west is a meat grinder. They were talking about A&M on the SEC network last Saturday night, saying that they are still not physical enough at the line of scrimmage. On defense, all you hear about is Garret. He is a 6'5" pass rusher who is vulnerable against the run. That freshman tackle Mack will help them immensely once they put him in the rotation. He is an SEC d lineman. They also need a really big thumper running back like Fournette, or Henry. That would make them more competitive in the west. I think Sumlin and company will make that adjustment.
