Thanks Rebel for taking the time to put that data together. Makes me feel even worse for poor Chad.

Majority of this roster wouldn't warrant a scholarship in the Lone Star Conference. Chad needs two more fully cycles before we will develop any kind of significant depth.

My question is how much turnover in the roster are we going to see next year?

Zing. Wonder if EWU needs another QB for their spring ball?

Interesting but just how accurate are the rivals and other scouting services, especially when you get past the very top recruits? The schools/coaches don't make an announcement on who they have offered. The athletes don't make an announcement on who has offered them...except for the egomaniacs and/or their parents and so many of them are ,shall we say, exaggerating their offers.. So who is getting the information? Is it an internet reporter? So if a recruit who has been offered by UTEP tells an internet reporter that he has been offered by USC and Notre Dame will it go on his rivals offer list?

follow any recruit on twitter these days and they are announcing their offers, camps, Coaching visits, unofficial/official visits the minute it happens-all the recruiting services are tracking the players twitter accounts these days then calling and confirming in interviews. I think there is much more information than in the past. The recruiting services have contacts with the coaching staffs-several players who claim false offers have been called out behind log-in screens

The craziest thing to me, looking over that inherited roster, is that 15 of the guys on the team had P5 offers, but 6 of them are no longer on the team for various reasons, and 2 of them are chronically hurt. That leaves 7.

that's pretty common-recruiting is a 50/50 proposition or less but if you fill the roster up with top recruits you are more likely to succeed. You've got career ending injuries, academics, behavior/conduct issues that affect every program. You get about 125 scholarships every 5 years and you are looking for at least 50 or so that can play in any particular year. The best programs recruit well 4 deep to account for the backwash. Of course, you also have to outrecruit the other teams relative to your schedule. A top 25 recruiting class might get you the 9-10th best class in the SEC

15 is not a lot anyway and then you take it down to 7 that makes things worse. Good thing HCCM has 15 players in one class that have P5 offers. To have just 15 guys on a team of 85 scholarship players with P5 offers over 5 recruiting classes is just poor recruiting. That's averages out to only 3 recruits per year with P5 offers. Definitely helps explains the depth problem.
