Looks like ACU is playing some legitimate teams (I don't include SMU in that grouping). Not sure why you all are making fun of ACU.

And at least it's not Mary Hard-on Baylor.

I predict a steady diet of ACU, SFA, SHU, TxSt in the next 7 years.

Disappointing to say the least. Cargogunki has every right to troll us 7 days a week for this. Not the way to build a program people care about. We cannot complain about conference affiliation if we schedule teams like this. If we are going to schedule ACU, why not go ahead and schedule Rice?

ACU is a one-off, we'd have to go home and home to get Rice on the schedule and the attendance would be roughly the same.

I bet ACU brings more fans than does Rice

we can expect to see more Southland teams on future home schedules for the reason mentioned above, i.e., we don't have to schedule these guys home/home and with our attendance issues, these are the schools we can afford to pay to visit Ford (schools that can bus to Dallas).

The games are a major contributor to our attendance issues, not a result of our attendance issues. We have 4 games per year to schedule opponents people care about.

I think we would prefer to attract folks who care about SMU.

Getting better teams on the schedule and beating them would accomplish that.

We should be honored they considered us. See below:

"Highlighting the future schedules are games against Baylor (2018) and a newly added game at
Texas A&M (2020). ACU director of athletics Lee De Leon added the game against the Aggies, as
well as games against Colorado State (2017), Mississippi State (2019) and SMU (2021)."
May the forth be with us.

Yes. Well, who is going to argue that beating the best teams every time would be popular? Let's just win the national championship next year then I'll bet we will sell more tickets. Why don't we just do that? Just call the touchdown play every time. It's simple.

I'm not saying it would be easy but it would be far more useful in building a fan base than pretending we're in the Southland Conference.
