Have hicks and Colbert consistently looked bad? Colbert looked alright in game time and I've seen some very good qbs have sub par spring games so I don't think the jury is exactly out on hicks

This. Jury is still out on Hicks at least. I like the Smalls kid and Charlie Brewer from Stanggang17 though.

Bless y'all with your perpetual blind optimism. Based of what I watched last year and at the spring game, the only way we enjoy a .500 season is if we go back to conf USA. Keep the faith, at least it makes for intertaining reading. Guessing win one comes against the flames.

There was a genuine extra effort the first couple of games last year. Even though they were obviously outmatched. Wasn't the same team after that.

And if your team doesn't have a lot of depth, so you have to play hurt players, it has an impact as well. I think that had more to do with the deterioration over the year - everyone had tape from Clemson.

Colbert looked great the week before, and was awful in the Spring game. Hicks had accuracy problems all spring, which I think is probably a mechanics thing. They still have a chance to improve before Fall practice, and the potential to do it. In 2017, between Colbert, Hicks and the other QB recruits, we should be fine. Morris' history doesn't show a lot of misses at QB, so I trust his evaluation ability.

Not sure 5 Star Deshaun Watson was an 'evaluation' find.

Hicks, Freeman, McBride and hopefully another 2017 QB commit, will tell the tale.
