I think Cal will be paying him through 2019 so I assume he will take less than what JJ & Chad were being paid. Not sure how much he still has coming from Cal but enough that he won't be hurting. If he's the guy, I just hope he will have an incentive laden contract

So have you heard that you've offered anyone yet? There's no way to confirm it but popular rumor in Jonesboro is that you offered Blake Anderson $10 million over 7 years and he passed. Nothing but a rumor and if it was true keep in mind his kid is still enrolled at A-State. That pay bump might not have been enough to get it past his wife and family. Again, just repeating what was said in our forum.

I’m ok with Dykes as our next HC. I just think we shouldn’t have to pay very much to get him. Pay him $800,000 and pay Traylor $400,000 to stay on as OC. Then go get the best available DC from a G5 that we can afford.

IIRC the offenses of dykes and traylor were quite different. guess they would have to try and combine the two? Who would you be looking for as DC?

I cannot imagine Traylor not joining Chad if he is not named head coach.

Agree- except that he might have a better chance of becoming hc in a couple of years here as opposed to waiting for an opportunity with cm. especially if he were made hciw.

But only old coaches have that HCIW guy and Dykes is still relatively young

Pete Golding from UTSA would be my first choice. If not look at the defensive coordinators at Fresno State, Troy, Wyoming, San Diego State, Marshall and Southern Miss.

Would rather have young, enthusiastic up and comer than proven loser whose brightest spot on his resume was that his daddy coached at Dust Bowl U.

interesting about Blake Anderson at A-State. Makes sense to reach out to him. 7 yrs for $10M seems solid. Maybe $12M? 7 yrs is a long term. His son would like SMU. Maybe not big city folk?
Wonder why Rhoades didn't hire Dykes at Missou. I get UH (Herman and cost) and Baylor (not enough sizzle for the $$). In hindsight, can't argue with the Missou hire.

Maybe Blake asked Chad for his input on the SMU job

Why is Keeler at Sam Houston at least not entertained? All he has done at Sam Houston is win. In the final 4 right now. 12-1 this year ain't too shabby.

Who's K.C? If we are doing initials it's more like T.B.
