pitt didn't join the big east until 1991, then joined the acc in 2013. they were independents until they joined the big east. does this invalidate our nc?

Cite the "A&M Rule for Determining National Championships in Football". We're good.

The writer Reese Graham is defending his cliam by saying since Pitt was in the Big East they weren't P5. https://twitter.com/ReeceKelleyG/status/1060249288784207878
Earlier in the thread, I tried to explain politely how Pittsburgh has always been a major team, even when they weren't in a conference. dr rc wrote:Even more amusing is he is an SMU grad.
Of all people, you'd think he'd want to give SMU a break!

Pitt was ranked #1 in the country at one time during that season. They were a great team.

If we get to six, I think we're going to the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth.

Perhaps. But with ESPN owning most of the bowls it wouldn't be surprising if some AAC teams ended up in non AAC bowls in an attempt to create better matchups. They've started to loosen things up the last few years when it comes to that sort of thing

If we make it to a bowl and it happens to be Frisco, it's going to be very difficult to consider buying tickets after last year's disgrace.... I know that's not a positive fan mentality, but I was there!
