there's a perception inside the league that AAF majority owner Tom Dundon bought a stake in the league for the gambling app being developed with one source saying, "Dundon got the technology he wanted and he's now minus one rather large headache." Dundon knew all along that the NFL wasn't gonna let the AAF use it's players, so that 'reason' for shutting the league down was dubious from the start. IF the App is worth more than 70 million, he personally wins while upsetting everyone else involved in the league. IF App worth less than 70 million he loses all the way around. Should be some fireworks and accusations flying now..... ![]()

Well, that is certainly an interesting way to spend 70 million dollars...I guess it is all about perspective. Beta testing while manipulating the sporting world...who-da thunk-it Last edited by peruna81 on Fri Apr 05, 2019 11:40 am, edited 1 time in total.

Re: SMU Alumnus Invests $250 Million in AAFIs Garrett Gilbert the GOAT of the AAF?
Peruna is my mascot!
Re: SMU Alumnus Invests $250 Million in AAFI get that they needed money ASAP but why would you give majority share to a guy that made his money on sub prime loans? He wanted this to fail, somehow some way he shorted this. I hope he gets a visit by the blue windbreakers because something sure does smell fishy.
Feel bad for the players and staff that had to pay their way home. What a circus. Sure Dundon can do with his money what he wants but shutting it down the way he did was classless, could've negotiated a more legal soundproof claim to AAF assets with the other founders in order to see the league through the end of the season. I'm curios to see the funding agreement contract Ebersol, Pullian and Dundon agreed on. If there were no fail safes for immediate termination and collateral seizure then Pullian and Ebersol are idiots but Dundon is classless. Same kind of bankers that got us into the Recession
