I have never understood the logic for punishing the students and the band by banishing them to the far corners of the stadium.

I seem to remember sitting at about the 30 yard line in the Cotton Bowl back in the day...but of course, we rarely used half of the available seats in that stadium. I agree, though...given the low attendance we currently have, I would think they could put the students and band much closer to mid-field on the visitors side

I think the conference has seating rules on the away side of the field. Why don't we just flip the camera and broadcast booth and mustang on the field? It would always look full then.

In section 104 about 7-8 rows up... We had 5-6 students come sit with us. They had fun as the section filled up with students doing what students do. Watch each other watch football. It was a group of guys and another group of girls. It's college you know.

Why did they rip out all the seats in the student section and leave just the cement steps?

They were also chalked with colors. Assuming that was some idea to attempt to organize student organizations by sections but it just ended up with those who cared to stand there gravitating to the front.

Psychology - if students hear there was something going on and they weren't there, they will show up next time so they do not feel excluded from the pack.
