They aren’t going to go more in-depth than that until we keep winning
With all due respect, that was a Dale Hansen tribute. That was definitely not a SMU tribute. If it was just lazy coverage then okay but that was all about DMN, Dale Hansen sprinkled with SMU failures.

I despise Hanson as much as anyone but his last statement about today’s team deserving respect resonated very well and was heard by prospective recruits. That alone makes the report positive for me.

Mr Hanson is a pitiable man. He has used up his 15 minutes of fame, and is infringing on someone else's time.
The piece by GameDay was an acknowledgement of our success this year, but was simple media pulp. The DP is what we are best known for...it is up to us to change the script.

+1. The point of pieces like this should be a bit of background on the bad old news, then the real focus on today’s (awesome) news. But it was 80% about 33+ years ago, because the DMN and WFAA guys who did the story wanted to talk about that. “This newsroom may be quiet today, but in 1986 it was jumping....” It reeks of “all about me.”

Exactly Dukie. Exactly. I get it to the dissenters on here that we are getting publicity but this was at our expense.
In other news, talk about a snooze fest at Perv st.

I didn't see all of game day. Did hear the SMU piece. I'm guessing even though at p state they didn't mention raping children in the shower nearly as much as the mentioned the DP during our segment.

Look at the financial backing of the Aggies & the Horns. It is preposterous to think we set the market. We were simply ’competitive’. As I always told people, would you rather drive that Trans A&M in College Station or Dallas.

Although my Aggie buddy told me we had to be reported because we were paying our 3rd string RB too much. He also told me how the Aggie$ routinely had "friends of the program" buying players tickets and how he was once offered a 3rd string RB's 4 tickets for $400 each.

Thanks for posting the video. Didn't see it. Odd. SMU got the death penalty and it shows a resurgent SMU. But it ends with the death of DMN sports room. Over time, who really got the death penalty? Ah, the metaphysical questions of life.
Did Thadeus do this? It was clever the subliminal death of DMN sport and life again at SMU.
