Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch? My tweets were low quality and I am sorry. Food just so good and June had pretty much delcared war on social media. Trying to keep the phone out of sight. All in all there might be a lot of people still upset and that's understandable. I for one feel much better about our situation than I did yesterday. Life will go on and we still have a bowl game to win. This game will mark three straight bowl games so it can't be that bad.
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?anyone else find it ironic that June, as BigEasty said, basically declared war on social media, said everything on the internet isnt true, Steinberg is 62 so he doesnt know how the internet works, Steinberg's blog posts were hacked and posted by someone not Steinberg, etc etc, and yet...
the grand finale brought to us via the miracle of the Acme Overhead Projector and Transparencies was specifically done to address what is "on the internet"?
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?
As others have stated, it was a ridiculous way to slant the data in favor of coaches who have been here longer. Also, it did feel like he was prepping everyone for AK's departure. However, I do not think it is fair to say he was slamming AK's recruiting efforts. I think he was building up everyone else. I suppose the most positive spin you could put on it was that he was trying to say that even recruiting to a C-USA program with more severe academic restrictions (3-4 years ago) these coaches on the staff (and prior staffs) were able to pull in good enough players to go 7-5 this year. So, if AK leaves then these coaches (with a continually improving situation to recruit to) will continue to get better players than they have been. AK might leave, but I cannot believe it is going to be because of what June had to say to a bunch of alumni about who recruited the starters.
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?Either June is lying or Steinberg is lying...my money is on June
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch? What about when his agent was on the radio talking about him going to ASU? Is everything on the radio untrue too?

Give him a break, I'm sure his laptop with Windows '95 was just broken! ![]()
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?
No, to my understanding he did other things to AK as well. But if AK goes then our recruiting will take as June said "a dip" next year. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?Again, as usual people read into my posts...
My real issue and my problem with JJ is his ego... There is no reason AK can't be on this staff, make him OC, give him raise tell him he gets 1st look at job.... I truly believe that JJ would rather sacrifice recruiting in order to not have any competition or anyone else people think is as great as you guys think JJ is...The guy really wants to be the only guy getting accolades and it bothers him that people love AK more than him. Why do you think he keeps the lemmings on staff, why does he never tell them to recruit more or work harder, because he knows they worship him and he prefers them to be secondary...

Also, a lot of this is a "depends on what the meaning of "is" is" situation. "offer" means one thing to us and another when taken as a legal definition. Was JJ ever offered a contract for the job? He says no. Leigh apparently thought that the contract was a done deal. But the contract is the offer, and it was never completed, as all sides agree. June may very well have thought he was going to get the offer, but leigh calls and says no deal, then JJ can say I was never offered. And we all go to Birmingham.
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?sounds like a first year contracts question to me.

Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?I also think JJ is pissed at SMU for not letting him out of buyout, and it woudnt surprise me if he just coasted along doing the minimum or worse, until we fire him.
it was defn discussed that he was a risk to try and get fired...
Tweets at the Coach Lunch?
how can you speak to his ability as an OC? You can't just make your best basket maker General Manager of the basket division. There are greater qualifications to consider.
Tweets at the Coach Lunch?
for sure. And a first year could easily tell you why JJ is 100% right in saying he was not offered the job.
Re: Tweets at the Coach Lunch?Would it matter...your Guru of offense JJ would still call the plays, but at least promote him and groom him for the job...
JJ doesnt want someone around him that could be better than him, JJ = egomaniac....look at me and only me...
