As much as we like to deride lawyers, it is through lawyers we often get to the truth of matters and its often only through lawyers that effective change occurs.

You say in two months this will be a distant memory, I hope not.

I'm hoping this girl sues Baylor and as part of her settlement, allows all the gory details about Baylor's role in this to be made public. Can't imagine she would agree to a non-disclosure agreement.

Peterson vs Briles in a he-said-she-said?, in depositions we should find out a lot more.

I'm also hoping Texas Monthly does a follow-up with the jury to find out why they recommended no jail time. One would think the DA would disqualify Baylor-alum from the jury. This is Texas, a conservative state, this part of the story needs to be told.

Oh, and I completely agree with Lesson #2.

Very true.

Lawyers also send completely innocent men to the gas chamber, and force billions to be wasted yearly on frivolous lawsuits.

Lawyers have done a fantastic job earning their reputations.

I believe it is the law that does that not the lawyers. If and when you need one you will be asking for the best one to get you off also. Or will you just willing be sent away guilty or innocent?

Kinda like guns kill people, people don't kill people right? No shady lawyers out there lying or manipulating evidence. I think The Innocence Project might disagree with you.

Well, you hate God and you hate lawyers. Pretty much covering the full spectrum.

Pretty much hates anything anyone says, so it's not a complicated outlook.

Maybe he can explain that gun thing one more time. Is it guns kill but people don't? Or people kill people and guns kill lawyers?

After what the NCAA did to Penn State for allowing Sandusky to have access to little boys, allowing this kid to have access to young women is in my view in the same ballpark. I guess he won't be starting at defensive end against us since he'll be heading to Huntsville.

Plus all those convicts that the innocence project is so concerned about were guilty of something - so not like they were truly innocent.

apparently footballdad is not aware of the right of every accused to be sentenced by a jury composed of American citizens who decide who gets the death penalty by unanimous vote and who goes to jail

Really, even though some were were found to be simply misidentified . So are you saying if they were found innocent after the innocence project got involved they were still guilty of something?
