No, I want to pick someone who is known for rebuilding programs and can recruit texas, not a coordinator who has braxton miller, Johnny Manzeil or Clemson's defense to hide behind for the last 4 years, let alone a position coach who has never been a coordinator.

Because he got fired from A&M 7 years ago because they were [deleted] Texas was winning the NC and they thought they were on their level and they weren't at the time and never had been up until Johnny Manziel and Mike Evans came along.

They weren't that level with those two guys. They lost 4 games last year.

Proving my point even more, if texas was winning 12, and 13 games last year and winning the BIG XII / NC's than A&M football wouldn't be on their high horse now either. Fran went 9-3 beating #11 Texas at home the second to last year there, losing to OU, #25 TT and Nebraska on a last second field goal. And then losing to Marshawn Lynch and DeSean Jackson in the Holiday Bowl.

Doesn't seem like he's doing much there but they don't pay him much and they're an FBS noob so expectations are low. Good place for him to run out the clock.

18-22 is what I'm looking at, spin aside they haven't won anything there. He's a good fit for them but we need a lot more out of our next guy.

isn't this a crazy board? Everyone wants "more", but not a guy with a national championship and a decade of top 25 football because somehow that's underperforming. Instead let's get someone with a mere 4 years as an OC or a guy who is a QB position coach. All so intellectually inconsistent.

Couldn't agree with you more. We don't want a coach from down the road that is proven to rebuild programs, and has coached a team filled with D1AA players to bowl eligibility , will go to a bowl game this year while we are sitting at home, and built our neighbors into what they are,

instead we want a guy that is energetic, can recruit, and has 0 head coaching experience, that's going to come in and take the reigns of a program with the same history and winning tradition as Kansas.

I think a lot of people on this board think we are doing Chad Morris, Tom Herman, Jake Spavital a huge favor by offering them the job. Right now with the way the program is SMU would be lucky to get Dennis Franchione, Mack Brown, Larry Coker, Houston Nutt, THIS IS NOT A GOOD JOB and won't be for quite some time and it's going to take some time and work from someone with experience of turning around programs to get it there. And then all of these no name 30 year olds will be clawing for it.

People are looking at recent trend, some want a guy on the way up the ladder rather than someone that fell off. These retreads are unemployed (or coaching for pennies) for a reason.
