But with any bad game, there are a few good plays. In SMU's case, most of those plays went their way. Willis' TD pass, the 30 yard TD run, and the interception return for a TD were all we needed. UAB had almost nothing going for them tonight. If it hadn't been for SMU's turnovers, UAB would have been shut out.

Now we've got another long week to prepare for the next game with Houston. We need to play better than tonight to beat that team.

Agreed.. and I actually saw production out of the offense.. it was conservative playcalling, but look at the # of plays ran by UAB vs SMU.. the turnovers just sapped our momentum every time.

Bottom line is that we did what we needed to do to win. It was boring because both defenses played well and because of the heightened visibility due to the ESPN broadcast. Don't forget that UAB's a good team.

I'll take it.

Boring? You're not a true SMU fan if you thought THAT was boring. THAT was nervewracking. I was pacing. Boring? I think NOT.

You're right. Boring was a bad choice of words. It was disappointing we couldn't get our offense going. Willis, though, continued his incredible completion percentage. He was at 78% tonight.

And what was up with the UAB kicker's first name? That's a first for me seeing how his first name is my last name.
