This thread should be called the “misery loves company” thread.....
I don’t get the Chad hate... he took an historically bad SMU program and returned it to mediocrity....
He certainly got out of Dodge before he had to face the 2018 schedule and he had tons of luck to get 7 winsin 2017 but he did make us average which is a step up from horrible.
Arkansas is a tough job that’s why they had to money whip Bielema to come on board. Chad should be able to get them to middle of the pack SEC up from laughing stock SEC. Sadly Arky fans don’t have the patience to give a guy time to build a foundation and then succeed like Clemson did with Dabo.

In fairness, Bielema came just one season after Arkansas finished #5 in the country. Probably overestimated the talent on the team after Petrino was let go.

Correction: June Jones took SMU to 4 Bowls in his last 5 years as HC, winning three of those Bowl games as the underdog. Prior to that, we had not sniffed a bowl game in decades. Those teams with Garrett Gilbert, Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley, Margus Hunt, Aldrick Robinson, Acker, Beachum, LeRibeus, Banjo, etc were better than anything Chad ever put on the field at SMU.

What's to correct? He simply commented that Chad inherited a historically bad team and made it a mediocre team before he bailed. I don't think anyone is going to argue that JJ didn't have more success and arguably the best team(s) SMU has fielded in the post death penalty. That 1st Hawaii Bowl win vs Kapernick's Nevada team was a thing of beauty and is forever captured as a highlight in the Pony Excess documentary I never get tired of watching.

It was June who took the historically bad SMU program and returned it to mediocrity - not Chad. Chad never even reached the level of mediocrity IMO.

Except that June didn't leave before returning the program to historically bad. Can't say that about Chad

We would be 0-5 and half way to 0-10 vs. D1a teams right now if it were not for the transfers that Sonny brought into the program that produced a 1 point win vs a very bad Navy team (Thank you Roberson Jr.). Don't see how this is any different than how June left the program. Chad had one high quality win over the course of his three years on the hilltop. One.

they could sell 60,000 for this game on a Saturday
it's a sellout just like every TCU game except sometimes for returned visiting team alottment
