https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... vents.htmlAnaphylaxis after COVID-19 vaccination is rare and has occurred in approximately 2 to 5 people per million vaccinated in the United States. Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, can occur after any vaccination. If this occurs, vaccination providers can effectively and immediately treat the reaction. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.

Every medicine and preventative therapy has a therapeutic index. I am more than comfortable with the therapeutic index of all the vaccines given out in the USA, especially Pfizer and Moderna.

Kind of interesting to see a lot of Republican leadership and Fox News change their tune on vaccination. Hopefully it will result in the vaccination rates improving so that we don't have to shut things back down again.

Swing state folks realizing which population might have fewer folks around in 3 years... At least they are coming around to the objectively correct messages.

New Jersey officials say nearly 50 fully vaccinated residents have died from COVID-19 - Headline cut and paste. Have you seen it?
This is disturbing. Why, how, what were comorbitities? Sad.

NJ reports 26,562 deaths from the virus, so 50 = 0.00188% of that total. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/202 ... cases.htmlOf course, we don't know how many (both NJ and nationally) have been saved by the vaccines.

The vaccine is safe. We’ve gotten to the point where both sides seem to expect zero risk.

If you put your anger aside and read what I wrote, you (hopefully) will see I never claimed to research anything. What I wrote is that people in America have the right to think, research, and make their own decisions about things. Guess what? Even if someone has a different opinion than yours or Cole’s, it’s still THEIR decision. Not for anyone else (yes, that includes you) to make it for them.
I don't think Dukie misinterpreted what you wrote. Dukie explained what research involves and it's a pretty safe bet that most people opting in or out of the vaccine are not researching anything at all. I don't sense any anger, but likening a gut feeling to research is pretty ill informed. Also, if someone decides to get plastic surgery or not it really doesn't affect anyone else. However, this infectious disease does affect everyone and may result in more lockdowns in the near term as Mitch McConnell fearfully alluded to in advocating for the vaccine yesterday.
mustangxc read my meaning correctly. I can find soccermom's attempt to position vaccine topics as matters of opinion and freedom to be asinine without wasting any emotion on it.

Now Mark Cuban is offering to buy Pfizer stock for Beasley's wife, and NFL is threatening to make team that play players forfeit games, in which case players would not get paid. That won't work (imagine the lawsuits filed by guys who miss out on 7-figure game checks), but it sure feels like the heat is being turned up.

Why wouldn't that work? MLB players didn't get paid for games that weren't played in 2020. They got prorated salaries which really hurts some players in particular who had abnormally high salaries that particular season. If NFL teams aren't able to play certain games due to COVID-19 then tickets will be refunded and money lost. I understand that COVID-19 is highly infectious and transmittable despite proper precautions but losses will be incurred if games are cancelled. Why wouldn't the players lose their game checks if they didn't do everything possible to avoid getting infected?

It's not a threat but a promise. If an unvaccinated player/staff outbreak cancels a game that can't be made up in the season then the outbreak team gets a loss and forfeit while both lose pay. Basically if the Bills are on schedule don't make any big purchases. Thread: https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status ... 0305335299

You're right. I think I wasn't clear before. All I meant was that if games — and therefore paychecks — start getting sacrificed, we could start to see a slew of players, rather than the league or specific teams, leaning on their teammates to get vaccinated. Might have a different effect with the peer pressure.

If you're not getting vaccinated because some unqualified, yet secretly vaccinated, talking head on TV told you not to, or some unqualified, yet secretly vaccinated politician said it's a socialist plot to control you, or because some facebook post or natural health website questioned the safety and efficacy of "emergency use" vaccines, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you're not the independent, free thinking thinker you think you are.
