Other games of interestModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Other games of interestYesterday (and Thursday night) told me we might be in for some real tussles @ Rice, vs UNT and @ Memphis. Season is about to get real although I expect this team will roll Tulsa even getting Tulsa's best shot as they try to show they are a better team that what they showed against Rice
Re: Other games of interestCondolences to Graceland Tarheel who has been a great addition to our board, but as long as Mack is their coach I can’t root for the Heels.
Re: Other games of interestNot a fan of UH by any means but that placement of the ball on UH’s 3rd down play was egregiously wrong. Not sure why there was no contesting it or replay. If they score a touchdown, I think they win in overtime. Texas is overrated, as always. The B12 is so bad though they may go undefeated the rest of the way. Top to bottom, the B12 is the weakest of the P5 conferences and it’s not even close.
Re: Other games of interest
Saying the season is about to get real and then mentioning UNT in the very next sentence makes me want to question anything you have ever contributed to this board. .....and because I know tone is difficult to gauge on a forum like this, please know that that was an attempt at humor and that all snarkiness was directed at Denton Community College, not you. ![]()
Re: Other games of interestUNT had a close game at ranked Tulane. However, that game is at home.
At Memphis and Rice are the bigger challenges to staying undefeated and competing with Tulane and UTSA with Harris back.
Re: Other games of interest
That UNT game @ Tulane really got my attention as it was Tulane's Homecoming and they scored the go ahead TD with 2 minutes to play and then saw UNT get to mid-field before Tulane's D stopped them. UNT is significantly improved with Chandler Rogers at QB. Since taking over at QB, Rogers has thrown 14 TDs vs only 1 INT and that game will be yet another nationally televised Friday night lights game so I hope our guys bring their A game. Memphis has been pretty tough as usual and we have to play them at their place so that's the game I thought we were most likely to lose. My pre-season prediction was that we would go 9-3 losing one of our road games in AAC play and I still think that's how it will play out. Hope I'm wrong and this team is good enough to become undefeated AAC Champions
Re: Other games of interestAt Rice is the game that worries me besides Memphis, but as long as we beat Memphis and don’t lose more than 1 conference game we will be in the championship game. Thank God we have a much improved defense!
Re: Other games of interestOops, I forgot about UTSA. They are currently 3-0 in conference as well, so we just need to win out. Leave nothing to chance and tiebreakers!
Re: Other games of interest
Beating Memphis is important but if we lose any other conference game, there is still the possibility the winner of Tulane vs UTSA goes unbeaten and depending on who we lose to, a one loss Tulane or UTSA might have a higher CFP ranking and get the championship game instead of our guys. If our guys want to accomplish their goal of winning the AAC they really need to win out
Re: Other games of interest
I’m assuming that Tulane will be the opponent in the championship but I forgot about the roadrunners. Realistically it’s still too early and I agree, we just need to win out.
Re: Other games of interestCharlotte-FAU isn't riveting
Go Rangers... stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
Re: Other games of interestAfter blowing a big lead, Memphis had to score with 12 seconds left to beat UNT 45-42. Rice & Tulane in a tight game with Tulane up 30-28 in 4th quarter. UTSA pulling away from ECU 41-20

Re: Other games of interestOU lost. Rice is making the game interesting
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Other games of interestCal up 36-29 over USC in 3rd quarter
Re: Other games of interestHouston and UCF both lost again today to remain at the bottom of the Big XII standings with Cincy @ OSU tonight. I would like to think the portal and NIL would have allowed us to beat those teams this year but who knows?
