It is good to see North Texas and Baylor on the schedule. I would like to see the creation of more true regional rivals!

ehhhhh. I think we need to focus on scheduling bigger names and hoping to boost our difficulty of schedule rating. We already have regional rivals in TCU, houston, UTEP, Rice, and Tulsa....I think that is enough for now.

Ya i agree with S..M..U here. North Texas is an okay ooc game at best, but SMU needs to start playing more big 12 teams and maybe even some bigger named independents. I would love to see a revival of the Notre Dame- SMU matchup or maybe even a away-away-home game between with Arkansas. With those big games comes the cash that this program needs to succeed in the future. We're getting on that level, talent-wise, to actually compete with the likes of Tech, and Baylor and Arkansas. September 4th is going to be day SMU football is resurrected OFFICIALLY! PONY UP Mustang Nation

I'd love to see some east coast teams for better media exposure & build some rivalries with those guys. Perhaps a PAC12 team here or there - if they would take us.

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I'm not sure east coast is necessarily the way to go. Maybe try the other direction since we have placed an emphasis on recruiting out west.

Good point regarding the West Coast teams.

However, I just think it would be great if we could build some rivalries with BC, Syracuse or whomever in the Little East. ND would be great but I doubt if they would take us on an annual basis. It's just that those schools are in & near the media capital of the world & coverage would be supreme.

West Coast teams would be ideal because of the our recruiting patterns out there. Smu-Stanford anybody?

I would love to see smu schedule ucla or USC. We need to play some games in Los Angeles. I agree smu Stanford would be cool but the sum ucla game back in 94 was epic!

Priority No. 1: gonna have to earn/save some money

NTSU is fine for our lay-up game. With nice new Stadiums that game could really be financially successful.

I was the spotter for our radio crew that day, with UCLA's light color jerseys and numbers, it wasn't an easy gig. Pony Up!

If you want to have the opportunity to play in bcs bowls then you have to run the table and since you probably won't face any top ten teams in CUSA then you need to schedule those teams in nonconference which means going on the road to A&M, UT, (even TCU for now) and kicking butt and taking names. UNT is ok for one of the nonconference games but even a win over a 7-5 Baylor doesn't do anything for us except on a regional and alumni feel-good basis. Are we happy winning 8 games for the longterm future and going to a pretty good bowl ....or do we wanna be great and go to the occassional bcs bowl. If Boise State and TCU can do it then surely SMU can...but you have to want to do it real bad.
