At some point, we might even become permanent site for CUSA Championship Game in a great city. With the Cowboys going to Arlington, why not?

A&M Game

Postby Boston Pony » Tue Aug 24, 2004 10:41 am

NCAA counts home games, not where they are played. Thus for Rice, playing at Reliant counted in their attendance numbers. My guess is that we would not need to have it at Cotton Bowl or at Texas Stadium. Having 30+ at Ford would drive our averages well above the 15k level for the year. What is needed is additional OOC games of this sort. I am also of the belief that games with UNT are useful as they may not bring tremendous crowds, but the local interest would increase awareness and we could average in the 20 - 25k level at both Ford & UNT.

I dont mind being wrong, but are you sure there is not a stipulation of some kind about that? I thought for sure I remembered a new rule about the location of home games aimed at making sure schools didnt circumvent the new rules by calling money games played away from their normal site 'home games'.

I've read where UL-Monroe is playing Arkansas in Little Rock, which will count as a home game. Also, Idaho is scheduling some games across the border in Pullman, WA, as their "Kibbie Dome" barely holds 15k.
