If the Ponies play as hard as they did last night and win, then sellouts will not be a problem. As many posters have already pointed out, we had some football players on the field last night. tt had more talent and had all they could handle. That speaks volumes for the work put in by all Ponies concerned over the last year.

As to sellouts and tt, one doesn't have to look back very far to remember the good old days of SWC and the lack luster crowds the tt red raiders mustered in Dallas. Of course, back then the tt faithful could count on the red raiders showing up every two years. That isn't the case now. Back then the problem for most red raider fans was whether to see tt play in Dallas or pass up an opportunity with that really fine goat butt. Since tt only plays in Dallas every now and then, the red raider fans pass up on the goat butt and have come out to the game over the past two years. The attendance was once much poorer by tt fans.

Phil Bennett's actions were classless, crybaby-ish, wreckless, and could have caused a major brawl with the players. Thank goodness Leach hasn't whined like a baby and lost his emotions when Tech has been on the other end of late scores (which they have several times).

As for SMU, I imagine they have pretty much lost their chances at getting anyone into Ford Stadium to sell it out for them until A&M comes calling in 2011. Last night's game was only the third sellout in Ford Stadium history (the other two were the stadium's opening night and Tech's last visit in 2002). It's likely that the only thing that will keep SMU above the NCAA Division IA minimum attendance mark of 15000 this year is Tech, and very few major opponents are willing to play at Ford, especially in a 50/50 home and home arrangement.

SMU's players deserve better than Bennett -- his team played hard last night but he's proven the last few years to be a lousy Division IA coach. Now, he's proven to be a crybaby that can't control his emotions. Instead of getting acting like a wuss, maybe Bennett should have been congratulating his defense on stopping Tech at the end of the game.

SMU can't afford to [deleted] off the only team that has provided sellouts and revenue in it's home stadium, and the fact that the entire stadium was booing Bennett as his team left the field was pretty enlightening as to just how few SMU fans were at the game.

Coach Bennett, if you can't take the heat of major college football then maybe you need to quit your job and go take up ballet.

you are INCREDIBLY wrong that Tech doesn't have good runningbacks. Taureen Henderson is a superlative athlete who beat Munlin out when he was a freshman. He WILL play on Sundays. Just because he might only get 8 carries a game doesn't mean he can't play. What did the guy have something like 90 catches out the backfield last year. He simply ate SMU up last year on 6 total carries. Johnie Mack ain't bad either-but they use their RBs as receivers.

Kinda sad that you have to hope OU can do what SMU will never be able to isn't it? Maybe Coach Bennett can go have a good cry on Coach Stoop's shoulder.

"*sobbing uncontrollably* Coach Stoops, that big meanie Mike Leach wouldn't make his team stop playing early when they played us. As you know, our team and fans are very fragile **sobbing** and those bullies hurt us! Please try and run up the score on them so my players can live through you and pretend we did it ourselves **more sobbing and hugs**".

You mean like the Leach return in Lubbock that put the Mustangs in the Cotton Bowl?

I wonder which slush fund he was being paid from. You must be so proud.

The bottom line is this: Tech tried to do something at the end of the game Saturday, the sportsmanship of which is questionable on its best day, against a team with a 13 game winless streak which was already beaten--and failed miserably in its attempt.

Next topic, please.
