Thumbs up to the creator of this message! I totally agree with you. Regardless of the current condition of our team, we shouldn't make our team feel any worse then my sure they already do. There is such a thing as constructive criticism and I've seen a lot on this board that is not at all constructive. There was a mother who said she was embarrassed and that the football team was somehow damaging her children's college experience. How ridiculous is that? Is the football team solely responsible for bettering your child's college experience? So you'll totally abandon your team and not support them b/c you're somehow embarrassed? How do you expect them to get any better if they have no support from us who are supposed to be their #1 supporters? Not to say that this is the only thing they need, but we can at least give them support. I was at the TCU game and it was hard to watch, but I still chanted "MUSTANGS!" and cheered whenever they did something good. No, the football team shouldn't be babied but we also shouldn't treat them like crap either.
And as for the Daily Campus. I think the Daily Campus should work on their reports after the football games. I don't think it helps when of our football players picks up a paper from their own school and it says on the front in big bold letters, "14 straight losses set record" and the article begins "Mustang fans who made the drive to TCU left disappointed." Mind you, I know that the headline is fact, but must they emphasize it? I've noticed that these articles after the game are often very negative, mostly overlooking the positives.
I'm not seeking to sugarcoat or give our Mustang football players milk and cookies, but all the [deleted] does get a little annoying!!
