Don't worry about it. As I mentioned in the blog, I think Bennett gets an interview and I think Bennett takes that interview. And I think Bennett does not get the job.

Think positive; think of it as K-State rubber stamping Bennett rebuilding job to date.

And don't be mad at Bennett for going on the interview, if he gets one. You would do if you were in his shoes.

If I were in his shoes I would not go for it on 4th and 6 from mid field early in the game.

BrianT, his brother and I argue constantly over what Bennett should do in every situation. We are always right; sometimes Benett is wrong. Sometimes, we are right and we get unlucky; sometimes Bennett is wrong and gets lucky.

If he's offered an interview, he at least would have to listen to what they have to say. If some KSU alum thinks he's the next Bear Bryant and they make him an enormous offer, he has to consider that. He has a family, and he's shown since we first heard his name around here that his family is the most important thing in his life. As it should be.

With all that said, I don't expect he'll get offered the K-State job, but he certainly would have to listen if he did. Doesn't mean he'd have to take it, but he would have to listen.

Although I believe my statement as made, I am a Bennett supporter and have been from the beginning. I just think last years team should have achieved this years results and this year should have been better. That said, he has set up next year to be a positive one if he can fill the right gaps.

Bennett will take the KSU job. I couldn't be happier for him.

That may be true, but when my 7 year old son questions the play calling and clock management we know that there is a problem there. I am sure that players that have a clue as to how the game should be played might notice a thing or two as well.

I think I can take your son, it is your daughter and her friends that scare the hell out of me.

I believe KSU will interview, PB.

But if I were KSU, and the other 'big names' turn 'em down, I have to fly-in Bailiffe from TX State.

He took chicken [deleted] & made chicken salad in 2 seasons! He takes a bunch of players who couldn't go .500 for the past (forever) seasons & now 10 are All-Conf. on a #4 ranked I-AA.

Plus, he was instrumental in the resurgence @ FrogU.

Makes ya wonder what this young guy could do with a higher profile program.

No thats a bunch of BS-just from quickly reviewing their roster I counted at least 13 Division 1A transfers (there were probably others I didn't recognize) plus boatloads of JC and transfers from other colleges. Their QB for example is from Houston. Justin Boren is there right now. They are one of the biggest beneficiaries of the rule allowing Division 1A players to be immediately eligible to play 1-AA Football. If we play them next year be forewarned that they have plenty of recruits that were at least as highly recruited as many we recruited.

Stallion, TX State have always had "boatlaods" of JUCO's & DI transfers-- but they haven't won since Wacker.

Bailiffe left TCU & turned TX State around. He gets the credit.

You still have to coach, recruit & motivate-- and it appears he has them believing in the program.

Even Mack Brown was quoted a few days ago saying TX State better get him a new contract because TX State turnaround has been the talk at some Big XII meetings.

You and me both. To make matters worse we are bringing about six of them to the game on Saturday. Anyone want to donate tickets to a bunch of noisy 12 year old girls?

BTW - I guess Patterson is staying at TCU, since he just signed a 7 year extension. That sort of takes his name out of the running. Looks like the OU assistant Venables and Bennett may very well be the early front runners.

Also looks like USF's Jim Leavitt, the other "frontrunner," is close to an extension as well. I think the K-state AD is balking at using a former assistant at this point considering the two choices are really Brent Venables and Bennett, even though a Snyder disciple is the clear preference of Bill Snyder. I think the AD is surprised the K-State job isn't garnering more interest. I am a little surprised myself.

Now my question do Copeland and Turner have any irons in the fire incase PB does leave? Do we have a contingency plan or are we gonna be stuck holding our [deleted]? Bennett may not leave but I want to have a plan in case he does not be left 2 months of recruiting season with no coach.
