I think there are a couple of reasons Abezontar,
It could be that Stallion posts mostly negative stuff because most of the news coming from SMU athletics is negative..
Also, he was around when SMU was the best FB program in America. For peope our age it is particularly tough to see how far we have fallen. It would be like introducing your close friends to your Dad. At one time he was the most successful CEO in America, living next door to [deleted] Cheney in Highland Park. Now he's flipping burgers at Keller's and living in Pleasant Grove....in a rent house...without a car....or cable TV....or the internet....he can't afford any of that stuff.
Personally I like his posts.

PK wrote:[Not to be argumentative SoCal (since we don't do things like that here), but I'm confused. If I'm understanding the posts I read here, having great Bball facilities and an experienced successful D1 Bball coach would pretty much take care of our Bball failure problems. That all takes M-O-N-E-Y, which our alums like Stallion don't seem interested in contributing. What am I missing here. Are these posters just full of [deleted] or what?
PK, I think these posters are full of [deleted]....and remember, those are your words not mine...
If all it took was great facilities and a good coach, then explain why SMU FB has been such a complete failure, even though we have one of the nicest stadiums in America? You telling me we only got half the equation right and PB is a terrible coach? I don't think he is.
The problem is not the coach or the facilities, it is the Model.

Well Duh...I think we have all agreed with that statement for a long time now. The problem is that complaining about it and [deleted] about it on PF.com doesn't change it. PB has probably done more to get it changed than any other coach (or any other person for that matter) up to this point in time. Withholding funds doesn't solve the problem...it just helps those who want to see the athletic department fade away. Buying cheap tickets and sitting in expensive seats doesn't help change anything either (jt). Helping the athletic department increase funding for recruiting and providing support to our coaches may not solve the problem, but it helps coaches like PB to continue the fight. That's better than sitting on our hands and crying about the terrible state of our athletics. Just MHO of course.

I guess I am still doing a poor job of communicating my point, I think people are mainly upset because Stallion has yet to post something constructive for an individual fan to do that would push the administration and the board of trustees to change the model, nor has he ever posted anything that he has done to encourage the administration and board of trustees to change the model, he just says that this, and this, and this needs to be changed, and then leaves us clueless when asked what we as individual fans could do to cause change.
I don't want him to stop posting, it is just that since he seems to know so much about what is wrong with the program and what needs to be done to fix it, then why not also give us some advice on what someone without any money and no ties to the department can do to help get the solutions implemented.

And those who do have some money need to give. I don't have a lot, but I give every year.

Thank you -- I tried to do that on the previous page.
As I mentioned before, I heard Nnabuife and Harper looked good, and McMurtray, too. Also heard a rumor that someone got hurt on Pro Day (how?) Anyone know if that's true? Or who it was?

Then you, and those like you, were spoiled by results that only came about by cheating, and which placed into historical context were but a blip on the screen of SMU football history.
Look, we have fallen, it is true. But let's not overestimate the fall. We haven't gone from top 10 to bottom 10. Not at all. That's comparing the zenith of a few CHEATING seasons in the 80's to the last few years. A better perspective is this: Where we were once a mediocre team in a top level conference, we are now a mediocre team in a mid level conference. A fall, yes, but not as big as you Dickerjames folks make it out to be. In historical context we were a top 60 team, not top 10.
And Stallion. I used to think he was ignorant that he runs off the casual fan. He's not ignorant, he's stupid. He simply cannot comprehend that the constant drumbeat of the same message that EVERYONE here gets doesn't change things for the better. It makes things worse. End of story.

I'm still waiting for Stallion, or possibly you So Cal to tell me what I can do as an individual fan to get the model changed. If you know what needs to be fixed, and the changes that need to be made, why not help us all out and tell me what I can do to get those changes made?

God even your "realism" posts are full of sunshine. We have not approached "mediocre" as a program. We've had one winning season in the last 17 years, and that was one game over .500. We've had two 5-6 seasons during that same span, and had a winless season under the current regime in what was apparently to you a lower-than-mid-level conference. Rather than expounding the state of the program as "mediocre" I think you'd be better served from a realistic perspective equating this program to a blind squirrel.

We've been 32-46-0 in conference post SWC. I call that mediocre. And pre-WAC and CUSA, from 1915 to 1995, we were 211-241-31. Also mediocre.
So what do you *agree* with in my post, jt? You seem to enjoy pointing out disagreements only.

Ponyboy everytime you post such utter nonsense I become even more committed to exposing the truth about SMU athletics. So get used to it-as long as there is a Ponyboy and apologists like you I'll be here making your life a living hell.
