We had a golf team at the NCAA's, a tennis team at the NCAA's and even though they lost, at least mention it in the paper. What a lazy bunch of reporters. I might just send them a package of potato chips so they don't go hungry while sitting on their fat behinds.

I don't fault the DMN for not publishing that SMU finished 4th place in some nonrevenue sport. And aside from that, there isn't anything new on the SMU website in that time, either. So, go yell at them. Or on the blog, so go yell at me.

The golf and tennis teams at a D-I school have tons of human interest angles that would make nice stories if the local paper gave a d*mn.

That's something a hometown team should rate - human interest, at the very least, when nothing else major is happening.

As for the "lazy reporters" .... they cover the events their editors assign. Calvin is covering the Mavs at the moment.

My gripe has always with been with the editors and higher-ups. They are the UT grads and East Coast types who have tried to turn Dallas' only paper into 'USA Today, Pardner'.
