Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. It's those other thousands of SMU alums in the area that don't ever go to games, NOT YOU.

I am starting to feel a little momentum building behind this movement. Looks like we are running a little short of our regular supply of apathy.

I kid about my feelings. My point though, as much as I agree with Blog, is that the alumni base though critical, is not the total answer. We need to get the whole community behind this team. Make it normal for a dad to take his kid to the SMU game on Saturday regardless of where he graduated. He lives in Dallas now. We do not have enough alumni to properly support this team. AND it is not the business of the DMN to do this for us. We have to do it through promotion and product. It can be done. We have the right type and size stadium to do it. It was always a difficult effort to try to sell out the Cotton Bowl or Texas Stadium. Ford is tailor made for SMU at this stage of its history and can and should be full every game day.

You are right, as usual, mrydel. I intend to e-mail Sachse about the game.

Yes... I am missing my regular weekly meeting of the apathy club for this.

I fully agree. I thought Orsini would be doing a little better but I have no idea what the budget constraints are with marketing, etc. I have not seen or heard hardly any changes. He was the director of ticketing for the Cowboys right? Anyway, the casual fan needs to hear what is going on...it's not happening currently. If I was a new person the metroplex, I wouldn't hardly know that SMU even existed.

Obviously, Mrydel, long term you are right. But we can't expect the larger community to embrace something before the smaller community of SMU alumni embrace it.

SmooBoy, it is tough to see now, but wait until the place is so packed that you long for the days of no waiting in line for hot chocolate, hot dogs and the bathroom!
Sports, and all that implies.
