Humility is a good thing. Cougar High got a good amount of that.

Dude...it was a one score game. One. Could have gone either way and they had home field advantage. We beat them by 5 with home field advantage the next year.

Oh, by the way...the UH/aggie "justice" game was the WEEK BEFORE THE SMU/UH 95-21 game. "Justice"...if your friggin madam cleo. It doesn't even compute. Unless your an idiot. Oh...wait...I see why you think...Nevermind. I didn't know...

I'll give SMU fan the senior game...that was "justice". Hell, must have been a rousing good time.

In fact, I know a gal that transfered from UH to SMU...she was a student at UH for the massacre and a student at SMU for the redemtion. She said she had a whale of a good time and really was happy for the student athletes.

Well, I was there at Cougar High LAST year!!!!! That was a fun little victory, with both teams having no excuses for losing! Why does Houston average in the 17,000 range, when their enrollment is 28,000? Comuter school mabey?

mabey?

"Mabey" it's because there is a lot of competition for the entertainment dollar in Houston (something you guys should be able to identify with)... and crappy [deleted] CUSA teams like Central Florida and SMU do nothing to excite the fan base.

35K enrollment & We got attendance avg up to 20.4 this year...not that we should be happy or anything with that.

When I was in school only 3k lived on campus and the avg age of students was 27....27. Yea, commuter school maybe.

The real problem is a long time of 1) sucking & 2) Not marketing to the students. Students that don't go to games become alumni that don't go to the games. Let that happen for 15(sucking)-20(no marketing) years and bang...you get in our position. Surely, SMU fan can empathize on some level (cough cough 14.4k so far this year cough cough).

They have plans to get to 10K on campus in the next 6 years. We've got rail coming to campus by 2011 too. UH will be a completely different school, community wise, by 2012 from when I went there. I feel good about the future of coog dom...but...Its a plan and not a reality right now. So ask me again in 5 or 6 years.

Rail coming to the Cougar High Campus.. almost as bad as DART Rail though SOC. So is it true that many of the felons from New Orleans disaster live in that area now? Kevlar-vest still a promotional item being considered by Robertson Stadium?

Probably. This is rich...they say tiddies are "sleezy" then they come bouncing in with their white clan hoods on...nice.

95-21 - Forrest Gregg is over it. Why aren't you?

From the "old news" file:
Ottawa, Ontario (Sports Network) - John Jenkins was named head coach of the Ottawa Renegades on Monday.

Jenkins became the second head coach in the team's four-year history. Executive vice president of football operations, Forrest Gregg emphasized the range of experience Jenkins brings with him over the course of 30 years in both coaching and player personnel "We believe that at this point in our history, we need somebody who can take us to the next level, first to the playoffs and then to the Grey Cup," said Gregg. Jenkins has been an offensive coordinator with five different CFL teams, which included the 1997 Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts. He also was the head coach at the University of Houston. "I have always had a great respect for the great CFL traditions and championship teams that have been here in the past," said Jenkins. "I also understand that the fans of Ottawa are starved for a winning team and I am here today to commit that I will dedicate myself completely to returning that championship tradition to the nation's capital."

we've been over it.. you guys are just the ones that like to gloat about beating a freshman team.. there's no denying you guys beat the crap out of a bad team.

Now if you want to talk about last year's game.. when we came down to your house and beat a "good team" that's fine. Or if you want to continue talking about your fine Cougar squad and the Kolb Carnival.. be my guest. But your rant about burning crosses, klan references, and the games from 10 or 20 years.. they're just not relevant.

Any "new" Material is always welcomed.. or just try being unique/creative..

And it's not like Mt. Baldy...err...Art Briles is Mr. Clean.

He had a nice little steroid scandal going on over in Stephenville in the early 1990s. Everybody looked the other way because he was the most powerful man in that town.

Gosh with pointed replies like that I better put on my Kevlar jacket. Don't dish it if you can't take it. And I don't believe it was a UH fan who started this thread.

For the cheesy dude,

You're right, the A&M game was before us. My bad.

But the week after you guys LOST at Arkansas. Couldn't hang with the elite in the conference, could you?

And I started this thread. And I will say this, I will forgive Cougar High for 95-21. I just won't forget it.

I don't think many NOLA evacuees live in 3rd Ward. They're all on the west and southwest sides of Houston.

Have you actually been to the 3rd Ward? Or are you just perpetuating a stereotype you've heard?

I live in the area, it's not a bad place at all. Of course, for people who are afraid of black people, it must be scary...seeing as how it's a majority black area.

There are poor pockets of 3rd Ward, and there are very wealthy parts of 3rd Ward.

Here's the neighborhood just a few blocks south of UH, Riverside Terrace (homes range between $400,000-$1,000,000+):

A little more modest neighborhood in 3rd Ward, just a few blocks west of UH, is Washington Terrace ($200,000-$400,000):

And of course we also have public housing and historic shotgun shacks in the area too:

Sorry if I upset your image of the Third Ward with facts.

Pay no attention to the title of the thread.

This is now the "Our arguments have been thrashed left and right so now the 'White Trash' in us is flowing freely" thread.

My works done on this one...lets let brokeback big10(cause-I-have-to-have-something-to-fall-back-on)ponyboy & worldstang have a little quality time.

(edit add)
One last dig...cause you asked for it...

Since the coogs joined the SWC - UH won or tied for the conference championship 4 times. SMU...3 times. Hang that.
