Me too. I long for the days when real backstabbing was an art form and not some lame thread on a message board.

Rivalry

Postby Coogcheese » Tue Nov 07, 2006 4:03 pm

Yea...good have at least a semblance of a rivalry...much less something that would fire up folks enough to make the 3 hour drive.

Tulsa didn't even try last week...I mean...Grambling fan talked more smack than those lamers.

Now I say again, grow up and refrain from taking cheap shots at character and get a decent sense of humor.

Sad thing is... the "Cougar High" thing is unimaginative, uncreative, and tired... but the new CUSA teams we play don't even know about it. I kinda miss getting called "Cougar High." Next, I'll expect you guys to make fun of our visits to Dallas with references to "lock down the 7/11's." That's truly old school. Ahhh... the good ole days.

Yeah. Maybe if y'all hadn't been such a pathetic disgrace of a football team, like us, the SWC might've stayed together. At least SMU had an excuse. :D

So how'd you get so lousy at it?

Judging by the old saying, "What you don't know can't hurt you," you're practically invulnerable.

Hey! He is from the Big 11, which is the best conference in every sport ever played, if you didn't already know. He knows everything.

Ah yes, Cougar High. The last school to join the SWC. I do indeed miss the days where every team had a derisive nickname that everyone in Texas knew, had some sort of hand gesture/signal, and every other team was your worst enemy. There was even an caste system that was as complex as anything the Hindus could come up with.

Rice and Baylor - Teachers and Preachers
SMU and Texas - Rulers and Warriors
TCU and Texas A&M - Merchants and Farmers
Texas Tech and Arkansas - Laborers
Houston - Polluted Laborers/Unotuchables

Wish we could bring back something like the Old SWC. Let's bundle up all the D-1 schools in Texas that ain't in the Big 12 cause I miss the good old days.

But the Porche/preppy references are clever, creative and ground-breaking? If you say so ....
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
...
"Hit it."
