Last week the grandmother went public saying her grandson was ignored at practice by the coaches. The players went public and said grandma was not there and was wrong. That is all just recent. It was mom that got son to decommit during recruiting in order to milk it for all she could. I would not be surprised if she did not get some hefty incentives from various sources to sway her son. That last part is pure speculation. Mom is very domineering and not a welcome sight on the UA campus.
Sounds like Mommy could be the next U of A AD if Lord Broyles ever dies.

I think it will take more than death to get Broyles out of office.

Quarterback Mitch Mustain, who started eight games as a freshman last season at Arkansas, will visit USC and possibly transfer, a source confirmed.
Mustain passed for 894 yards with 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 12 games.
Former Arkansas receiver Damian Williams, a high school teammate of Mustain's, transferred to USC last month.

From all reports, that kid's mom is completely nuts. Why would Pete Carroll want to deal with her, when he can pick up blue-chip QBs with a phone call every year?

DONT TRANSFER TO USC...to many investigations going on their as we speak. Joe McKnight blabed about talking to Reggie Bush days before signing day, then recanted his statement about talking with RB.
Mustain should transfer to Hawaii and become the next prolific passer in NCAA history. June Jones' system would turn that kid into a top 10 draft pick in 3 years.

Since this thread is unrelated to SMU and I started a similar one on Mustain, I thought I would add some more unrelated but fun to read information. Stop here if you do not like info not SMU related.
The local Sports Editor for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette wrote his column today and it was very anti Coach Nutt. Nutt had commenterd earlier that recruiting was difficult this year becuase opposing teams had laminated negative articles that the local media had written and presented it to players being recruited by Arkansas and others. The article today was all about "It was not the media that made promises not kept"...and on and on. Well, this sports writer is also on a morning radio sports show and Houston Nutt called in and lambasted the sports writer, called him a liar, refuted several of the statements in the article. The sports writer never responded other than, "I respect your call" and then Nutt was disconnected. After that the sports writer started defending his statements. This is a real powder keg here that is very much fun to watch. This is a big show down between Houston Nutt and wally Hall and it is difficult to believe both of them will be here next year. I do not know which one will be gone though.

He shouldn't transfer to SC because he won't play. After Booty graduates this year, Mark Sanchez will start. And he is better than Leinart and Booty ever were.

that's the thing about USC they have 4 and 5 star players lined up at every position. SMU fans actually seem to get concerned when SMU tries to even recruit a another player at a position where a player has shown medium competence. You get 85 scholarships-use them all.

I agree. If Mustain can't keep the job at UA, how does he think he'll beat out Sanchez and Aaron Corp (4 star, 2007 signee)? The QB competition at USC will be a LOT tougher than what it currently is at UA.

You guys can all say that Mustain would never beat out Sanchez but yall arent relizing how far down Leinhart was on the depth chart after Palmer left. NO ONE and i mean NO ONE thought we would succeed Carson Palmer. He went from 3rd/4th string to staking a claim at being one of the BEST qbs in Trojan history. You would have thought that Someone would be lying if he told you 5 years ago Matt Leinhart would jump nearly 3 spots on the charts.
Lets not totally wash away this kids hopes of not being a success at USC if he goes there.

The mother of former Arkansas quarterback Mitch Mustain said USC was one of several schools her son was considering transferring to.
Beck Campbell declined to identify other schools that had been in contact with her son. She said he would visit USC but there were no definite plans about when he would do so.
"I'm sure he will," Campbell said by phone. "But we're kind of in the anti-recruiting mode right now — or at least I am."
Mustain would be eligible in 2008 as a third-year sophomore.

The success of Leinart and Palmer were due to great coaching by Norm Chow. Palmer was very highly recruited out of high school and was a complete disappointment until the Carroll/Chow combo arrived. Palmer blew until his senior year. As for Matt Leinart, he was not 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. In 2003, there was no depth chart. Each QB was battling it out for the starting job - Leinart, Matt Cassel, and Booty (true freshman) were competing to start in '03 and Leinart barely won out.
In 2008, unless he gets injured or gets kicked out of school for "harrassing girls" (I've met the girl he "attacked" and believe me, she was asking for it...), he will be the starting man.

It means he doesn't have a daughter, and I would venture to say he has no sisters either. If you want to harass his Mom though go for it.
The donkey's name is Kiki.
On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

I meant, she wasn't attacked at all - she said he raped her, although there is no evidence to support her claim. She is the type of girl who walks into a party wearing almost nothing (no, literally) and then expects not to have guys all over her.
