It is kinda fun to have a TCU troll over here, typically you get me and ReedFrog and a few others who are actually TCU fans but support the stangs as well on occasion.

No doubt...we are way too level-headed and we may even dispel the notion that all TCU fans are jerks and we all think SMU sucks, etc...

The more I learn about TCU, the more I think the two schools are a lot more similar than fans would like to admit. Both are fine academic institutions, but TCU does currently own SMU in the money-making athletics department - although history would paint a different picture, of course. I think it's safe to say that SMU owns TCU as far a postgrad programs are concerned. (Am I off-base here?)

The weird thing is, I had no idea TCU was any better than UNT when I was in high school. I applied and was accepted to UT and SMU, but I never considered TCU for a second - and I grew up in Arlington. Admittedly, I didn't care for Ft. Worth at the time, so maybe that was the underlying reason for my bias towards Dallas and SMU. FWIW, Ft. Worth has really grown on me over the last few years, and I'd rather live there than San Antonio or Houston.

To the resident non-troll Froggies, what are TCU's academic strengths? At SMU, the business, law, and art schools seem to have to most prestige - what are the best academic departments at TCU? I know y'all have gotta be good at something besides football.

i dont think tcu has any room to talk. seriously, they didnt play much better than us and they were the same people who were whining about falling out of the top 25 before losing AGAIN, this time to air force. funny how things change so fast, gettin their jollies from beating up the 108th best team in the country (see SI's rankings: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/f ... index.html )

This guy clearly did not go to TCU. If he had he would remember the 15 straight SMU victories over TCU from 1972-1986, with a 19-2 record from 1966-1986 (as I recall). Talk about dominance and a team being irrelevant. And academics? Is he serious? This thread should be moved to a heading titled "Comedy." I have been just a viewer of Ponyfans since its conception and have enjoyed a daily dose of good natured banter on this board. But this post I had to reply to. By the way what's up Steve L.
