After you cheer for them at Perkins, please stop by and say hello and tell a parent, if you feel that way, how much you appreciate their son's commitment to SMU!
it would be great if someone would thank us! the poor sucker fans, for shelling out hard earned cash to see this product year after year.

As a Captain of this team, I know how tough this season has been for him to this point. But be assured, we are all proud of Ben and the job he is doing and thankful he came to SMU.
I want to echo everything said here. I've met your son and Tommy (nephew?), and both are first-class young men who I'm proud to have represent my alma mater. There's a rumor going around that Ben has a younger brother - I look forward to seeing him suit up for the Ponies!

Thank you for your comments, Jim. We all know that the players bust butt week in and week out and play to the final whistle. 20 years of losing seasons gets very old for some of us who were here for the "glory days" and even the bad days. We want the players to succeed, that's what makes us fans. When they don't we analyze and critique everything. From play calling to recruiting to technique. We do appreciate their efforts and continue to cheer for them week in and week out even though our hopes have not been met. People do vent here. That's what this board is for to some extent and I know you understand and appreciate that. We hope that the Pony's put together a winning streak. We would love that and those that will be attending the game, will be cheering loudly and I'll be 1500 miles away, yelling at my tv set. Let's start with a win against Tulane and go from there.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Ben at one of the away games...what a stud, class act, professional and LEADER...I'd hire the guy in a second!

You'll have to wait in line to hire Big Ben (uh, Dad .... tell him to grow his hair out before interviews! ) The guy is incredibly sharp, already has his degree, and is working on an MBA. Didn't he say in the Roundtable interview that he also wants to go to law school after? The guy is still in school and already is pointing out how little the rest of the world accomplishes! Anyone who has met him or has heard him conduct an interview knows he's not just book smart, either. He is exceptionally smart, poised and composed. Anyone who worries about the idea that "athletes are dumb" needs to meet this guy.
Hell, I've been working for a long time and I hope he ends up hiring me.
