I am sorry. Frank Broyles ARK lost to BEar BRyant in the Sugar bowl. Fry followed BRowyles from Baylor to ARK

Fry's record at SMU was 49-66-1

Even if this is an example (which he did coach Odessa Permium for 3 years as HC) he isn't a good example.

"Cristobal was exactly what Athletic Director Pete Garcia and University President Modesto A. Maidique were looking for."

The 36-year-old Cristobal becomes the first Cuban-American head coach in major college football.

A native of Havana, Cuba, Garcia is a 1984 graduate of the University of Miami

Dr. Modesto A. Maidique (pronounced may-DEEK, born in Havana, Cuba March 20, 1940) has been the President of Florida International University since 1986,

Frank Broyles was never a head coach at Baylor.

Missouri for one year
Arkansas for the rest of his career

So now every black player in the SEC before 1977 was a token too? You are too much.

Hayden was an Asst at Baylor and Arkansas(under Broyles) before going to SMU as a HC. He was not OC or DC but just an Assistant coach. If you are going to count HS head coaching, then you have to count bigdaddy589483892394 who was Willis' pee wee coach.

I didn't say he was

Fry left Baylor to become an assistant coach at Arkansas under Frank Broyles. Broyles had been Fry's position coach when Fry played at Baylor.

Before being hired by Ole Miss, he was the defensive line coach and assistant head coach for the University of Southern California (USC) where played a key role in Pete Carroll's Trojans winning the national championship in 2003 & 2004. He joined the USC staff in January of 1998, took on the added responsibility of recruiting coordinator for the Trojans in 2001, and was then named assistant head coach in 2003.

What does that have to do with anything? He was never a HC. He was never an OC or DC. That was your criteria. Assistant HC is often a token title.
