Ty Willingham does not seem like a "Big Splash" to me.

Stoops is staying at Arizona per the AD

Wandstat....still don't feel a "big splash"

The best part about Bowden, is TCU will become the program SMU has been for the last 20 years. I bet a lot of these "search firms" have people advising Orsini against Bowden because of the fear it may effect the whole power structure in Texas football and drain from UT.

Per the discription of the rumor....Tommy Bowden fits it the best. VERY unexpected, would be a big splash, and last time he coached in Conference USA, he took Tulane 13-0 and finsihed number 4 in the polls.

Really big splashes would be Miles, Saben, Spurrier, Stoops (OU), Carroll, Bellotti, Tressel...

None are likely to end up in Dallas. But they would be Tsunami like splashes.

Based on this rumor, does it mean that OC/DC like Applewhine are out?

Yeah, someone needs to clarify the levels of big splash.

Those names wouldn't be "really big splashes" at SMU, they'd be nuclear bombs. My fantasy pick for a really big splash would be Tommy Bowden...Clemson fans aren't happy unless they're winning the national championship. We'd be happy to win the metroplex championship.

The "Human Cannon Bomb" Mangino would make a BIG SPLASH but Kansas' fans aren't unhappy. I say look for the fattest candidates for the Big Splash.

Big Splash - a splash which is bigger than a splash, which is less than a big splash, which is much bigger that a small splash, which is smaller than a splash, and is much smaller than a big splash.
